Several other guys played on the record but didn't appear in the movie. Most of this band was 3/4th's Booker T & the MG's & the original Saturday Night Live house band. I've heard several versions of this song & this version smokes them all (including Macini's).

Via Wikipedia: Band formationEdit With the help of pianist-arranger Paul Shaffer, Belushi and Aykroyd started assembling a collection of studio talents to form their own band.[1] These included SNL band members saxophonist "Blue" Lou Marini and trombonist-saxophonist Tom Malone, who had previously played in Blood, Sweat & Tears.
