Sure you are. What's he doing, playing 16th notes and jerking around like Eyegor the hunchback? And sure Alvin Lee had talent, but tbh it was plain even in the late 60's that he had a couple of licks that'd show up in every song and that got old after awhile. Fast isn't necessarily good, it's just fast.

Gotta admit it's funny to see a 50+ year old man wearing leather pants and playing guitar, though. And maybe Leo Lyons was playing 32nd notes, I don't know, but it's only impressive to watch, IMO, for a few years during adolescence and then tastes change. from the Alvin Lee official instagram: “Ten Years After was called a 'Underground Movement'. It was the time when we could get on stage and play in street clothes, like jeans and t-shirts. You didn't have to bow and do the show-biz kind of thing. It was pure, one hundred percent music. That was what it was all about. It was about the playing, and of course the extended solos, and the ten minute songs. It might've been self indulgent, but it was a very healthy situation for a band to be able to play just the way they wanted to play. I think that attitude is, what is interesting people today. It's a good healthy attitude towards music”

@@JohnSmith-ww2pi So ya...Eddie wasn't the first to tap...just the first to perfect it and record the mind blowing/guitar world altering Eruption. I think Ed was the greatest...but I'd rather listen to Alvin or Michael Schenker play.

When Alvin Lee was in Phoenix we heard what sounded to us a tight band until Ten Years After followed. I've seen the Doors, Hendrix, Janus etc. But Lee and the band were the tightest I ever heard. RM

When I was a kid before Woodstock a teenager who had recently traveled to England recommended I look into Ten Years After. All their records then were the more expensive imports with the cool pllastic sleeve. Me and all my friends loved them. We were Beatles Hendrix Cream Mothers Jeff Beck late night pot smokers from Southern California. So we knew a good thing. Only 13 and we knew how to ......
