Demo of the Roland Street Cube with a Taylor 412ce LTD Rosewood/Spruce acoustic guitar (original expression system). I briefly look at the JC clean setting, but mostly stay on my fav for acoustic - the black panel setting. It just warms up the sound of an acoustic pickup. For acoustic effects I mostly use reverb or delay, sometimes with just a smidge of chorus. The Roland Street Cube is a popular battery powered amp used for small jam sessions, small singer songwriter ('coffeehouse') gigs, and is often seen being used by buskers. (Demo was with a Beyerdynamic MC930 mic.)
Part I, Roland Street Cube Features: • Roland Cube Street Part 1
Part II, Roland Street Cube with electric guitar: • Roland Street Cube Part 2
Part III, Roland Street Cube with acoustic guitar: • Roland Street Cube Part 3

Not sure - I'd check the settings on your amp, and read the manual for the amp to see if there are any suggestions. Also, you can take it to a music store or a friend to check it out - it would help to see it in person. Good luck!

Thank you for these video reviews. I'm looking for something to play acoustic bass through for park / street performance. I wish I could get a sense of how it would do from somewhere.

+UK2AK Not sure how it would work for bass - Roland also makes a micro cube for bass and a larger cube street that might work if this one doesn't. Good luck :-)

Bass rx is pretty good. I use it with a micro POG for some deeper sounds.

great reviews - thank you. i’m going to try one tomorrow as i understand the instrument input also works well with harmonica - im looking for a bluesy/slightly broken signal at modest volumes. cheers.

Haven't tried it myself, but the amp seems like it would work well for that. Good luck!

Thank you soooo much for the three part series. Tons of useful info. Roland should hire you as a product specialist! As nice as this item is. I won’t be getting it. But I can see it being a perfect fit for countless singer/songwriters or people wanting a very decent practice amp. Oh...sweet playing too!!!

Yes, I do not like it either. Try JC Clean or Black Panel; they sound better to me. Good luck!

Hello can aynbody say sth abouth the usage of the foot pedals, What pedals can you use? How does it work generally? Thanks!
@BlueSkyGuitar2
@BlueSkyGuitar2 5 жыл бұрын
Hello Marco, the Street Cube has built in effects, but you could have an effects pedal between your guitar and the Street Cube just like any other amp.

@@BlueSkyGuitar2 But can you switch between let's say clean and brit combo or any other other dist sound with an external pedal??
@BlueSkyGuitar2
@BlueSkyGuitar2 5 жыл бұрын
A footswitch can turn effects and delay/reverb on/off (and also mute the mic channel). It does not switch between amp sounds though. For clean/dirty, you could use a cleaner amp mode and get an overdrive or other dirt pedal.

noob question. Is this amp loud enough to practice with drums in a small soundproof room?
@BlueSkyGuitar2
@BlueSkyGuitar2 4 жыл бұрын
Generally, no. It probably wouldn't be a good mix. If you had a quiet drummer playing with brushes - then sure.
@BlueSkyGuitar2
@BlueSkyGuitar2 4 жыл бұрын
PS - also, it's always a good idea to make sure you wear earplugs to reduce the volume when you're in any loud environment.

how many watts?
@BlueSkyGuitar2
@BlueSkyGuitar2 8 жыл бұрын
+Pedro Chacon I found something that says it's 5 Watts. Wattage can be misleading though, so the best thing is usually to try one out or observe someone else who's using one in a live context.
