I don't know if it can help you, but this song is actually more about how Damiano (the singer, who's also the one who writes the lyrics) feels the music, what music is for him. In the song he asks Marlena (his muse and all the other members of the band) to come back home because in that period Damiano had lost the inspiration to write. In the song, he tells of his journey with music, of who he was before "meeting" Marlena and of the fear he has of losing everything. At one point, in fact, he says "so Marlena come back home, because I'm afraid of disappearing", I interpreted it as "Marlena please come back home because I'm afraid of disappearing, because I'm nothing without you, without music". Please correct me if I'm wrong🧡I think the way Damiano talks about what music means to him, through this song, is purely poetic. I love it for this reason. In Italian the way he uses all the terms is so perfectly and "rightly". This song is a real poem. I wish I had Damiano's ability to write, he is simply a poet🧡 Love from Italy🇮🇹❤ And I love Germany too, I hope one day I can come and live there, cause it's my biggest dream🤍

@@lucianorosarelli-xr5lr I would say that YOU have DEFINITELY missed the opportunity to keep quiet and shut up since you don't know how to use polite attitudes. I know perfectly both the reference to a true story and the Verano Cemetery (which is wonderful, it is the location of dozens of film scenes ... and unfortunately left in an ever greater state of decay). The obvious meaning of my comment is that after creating the (fictional) figure of Marlena the Maneskins have created another female character (inspired by a real person) that fans can love and be kidnapped by. And the group name will always be associated in the world with these two female names.

Thank you for the reaction! My personal favourite at this moment is La paura del buio, there’s a great live performance on Radio Italia live with English subtitles. I just love their music and their live performances are so great, the energy and presence on stage is incredible and it gives me such joy to watch a band that really loves what they’re doing. All the Radio Italia live performances are great. Also the rooftop session with Back to black is so good..

I enjoyed the vocal discussion you gave. Marlena is their muse. She appears in a lot of songs from their first album- and you can follow her in this video- she's in the bath at the end- then in Le Parole Lontane- each of the band members interacts with her and how she brings something out of themselves- then in Moriro da re- of how they perform when inspired. This song uses the structure of a love song to talk about the relationship of an artist to their art and how that relationship shapes you.

Check Coraline, Pyro, Kiss this and Recovery. You'll go from surprises to surprises. But you have to make sure you get the translation before. The lyrics are too important with Damiano not to be analysed. Actually some songs have no lyrics, some songs are pure poetry.

Please React their "coraline". It's a beautiful ballad
@Mick.y.3 жыл бұрын
In "Torna a casa" the video is more important than the words. In "Coraline" the text is very important (in any case, there is no video). The video for "Torna a casa" shouldn't be interrupted for long precisely because it is the key part of the song. And you shouldn't read the text as the video scrolls (8:06). This applies to all Maneskin videos (example: Morirò da re).
@francobollo76223 жыл бұрын
I disagree that the lyrics are secondary to the video: The poetry of this verse does not seem insignificant to me: " With blood on my hands I will climb all the peaks I want to get to where the human eye stops To learn to forgive all my sins Because even the angels, at times, are afraid of death " And anyway in this song, as in other Maneskin songs the message is important, it speaks of Marlena recurring also in other Maneskin songs who is not a physical person but a metaphor that represents their inspirational muse. In my opinion, in the songs of Maneskin, at least in those in Italian the lyrics should always be carefully analyzed
@Mick.y.3 жыл бұрын
This is a poetic text (not a very precise story like that of "Coraline") and I find that the video (of "Torna a casa") is much more poetic and profound than the text. The video is truly amazing while the text is certainly not "original". The image of the dancer holding the strings is higher than the text, as is the initial part where the other dancer comes out of the veil. As well as the facade of the building at the beginning of the video, all of which I think are more poetic than the text itself. The text of Torna a casa it's "cute" but nothing that will go down in history. The video is really something that deserves to enter the history of music for its depth and poetry.
@francobollo76223 жыл бұрын
@@Mick.y. I still disagree with you, but it is not a problem that lirics is nothing that I leave you to your ideas, for the video we must thank Giacomo Triglia who followed the direction, and the villa where the video was shot is villa Arconati which I know well since it is in my city.Comparing coraline's sad story with this song doesn't make sense Coraline, perhaps the best Maneskin song is a sad fairy tale that tells a true story, "Torna a Casa" refers to the loss of inspiration (Marlena) which causes writer's block and by extension the artistic streak ,as I think knowing a band also implies knowing the message, and Marlena the protagonist of the song, is transversal in their other songs (L’altra dimensione,Morirò da re) Maneskin explain who is Marlena! kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYqWepVupal3Z9k Even if I think differently from you, however, I'm glad you appreciate the Maneskin
@lellab.81793 жыл бұрын
I totally disagree. The video without the lyrics has little sense. The struggle of the ballerina is the struggle of the band (and particularly Damiano) without their muse/music/inspiration (Marlena). I couldn't understand the meaning of the video without the lyrics. I admit that the video is poetic even by itself, but still... And "Torna a casa" and "Coraline" are two very different songs, hardly comparable, in my opinion. But hey, anyone has the right to their opinion!

For sure. your opinion about Italians is interesting, but there is not a rule, of course, every one is different. probably what happened here is that the satisfaction for listening to an Italian song that really worked for you leads you to appreciate more the aspects of the Italian culture that in other occasion are underrated. This is good and brings me to the faith about how good is Music to spread respect and culture all over.

Hi ! When u described how Damiano uses his voice i started to zone out, daydreaming, about something really specific, bear with me for a second: Raspiness check, chills and thrills check, stage presence absolute check. Now, he wouldn't go out of his comfort zone of range because he is good at what he does and as u said, it's more natural and rightfully so he can do whatever he wants (regardless of the obvious comfort zone) He sometimes flexes his pipes and we all love it! Me too, so, here comes the daydreaming in front of the screen... I really REALLY wish to see how Maneskin would perform the biggest song from Queen, Bohemian Rapsody! HOLD IT. (They did a 45 seconds of "We will rock you" In one of their early concerts a couple years ago!? I stan kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqWcl4eDd8RnecU ) There is someone else (IN MY OPINION) that can serve good and fun entertainment with this specific performance, IF ONLY a CROSSOVER Collab with Maneskin would be possible--- I'm talking about the Italian Group IL VOLO. They sing hybrid PopOpera (operatic are their voices they always trained hard from the beginning, now they are evolving into pop sounds since, you know, one of their earlier albums) The guys from Il Volo won Sanremo Festival in 2015 and they too had the chance to go to Eurovision like Maneskin could. So here i go posting a link in which Il Volo perform "Somebody to love" they did it in their own way, they have no intention trying to emulate Queen, it's just a nice tribute vibing to good music ;) kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4K0gYCDmpyfb5Y The daydreaming is over. I know this would never happen but i'm sure when i say this: Damiano's voice (and the rest of the band of course

If I were to suggest a few Maneskin’s songs to a metal head, I’d say there are three that shouldn’t be missed: 1) In nome del padre (In the name of the father), which is a Rage Against the Machine hard rap-rock kind of piece, with an amazing guitar solo in the end 2) Coraline, a rock ballad with really deep lyrics which is as simple as beautiful, and also has a fantastic guitar solo in the end 3) For Your Love, a Led Zeppelinesque classical rock masterpiece, Måneskin’s best song IMHO, which again has a guitar solo for the ages

Hallo 😁Maneskin, are an italian young band from Roma, they won Sanremo festival and Eurovision Song contest this year, whose name is a Danish word meaning moonlight, chosen because Victoria the bassist of the group is half Danish, became famous in Italy in 2017 when they came second in the final of X-Factor Italy, to me they are always liked from the first audition, they are excellent musicians and have made many songs both in English and Italian, totally different from each other, ranging from metal to Raggie to ballads always obtaining excellent results, if you love hard rock the best songs are "zitti e buoni" (the best Is Eurovision Song contest live) or "l wanna be your slave" or "in nome del padre" or "morirò da Re" or "lividi sui gomiti" or "chosen" or "la paura del buio" or "fear for nobody", while if you like the songs that have a text definable as pure poetry , these songs are : "Coraline", "torna a casa", "vent'anni" " le parole lontane" so I suggest you see them with English subtitles, while if you want to truly appreciate Damiano's singing skills and Victoria, Thomas and Ethan's skill as musicians you should listen to the live versions of the following songs "back to black cover live", "begin" cover, "amandoti Cover live" or "New Song live", try to hear you will not regret it 😁👍
