This is a video that should have been a video of the performance, not simply a stream of photos. Three great performers together doing a dynamic tune. Curtis Salgado doesn't give us his excellent harp work on recordings. Robert Cray's clipped style is seldom heard these days it seems. What do we have of SRV but those great early recordings and maybe memories of seeing him play live. I guess we can't have it all.

@@DanielIsasky-ny5gv One of the things that makes this performance what it is, very special, is that these three fellow knew each other. I got into the music of Curtis Salgado from hearing him on Robert Cray's debut record. I was hooked by his singing voice and down the road I realized what a dynamic harp player he was. In talking with him years later I learned that Salgado personally knew SRV, maybe through Jimmie Vaughan or Kim Wilson. I don't know if there was a tie between SRV and Cray, though. This sounds like they'd been playing together for a long time, there's a great tightness here. The one thing missing here is Salgado's singing, which isn't surprising since Stevie practically owns this song.

They both was smoking I found out Robert cray was born before SRV I guess SRV was just an old soul cause it seemed like he lived a lifetime even before he died which sucked big time.
