I support Pau Rugby team in France; we've got Simon Mannix and Carl Hayman as coach and Colin Slade and Conrad Smith as players . I realize now , how NZ players are very profesionnal at training ... respects to NZ rugby players . Rico ( South of France )

Why are people saying this is not rugby training, this is rugby training! Blues are my favourite team and I'm supporting them all the way! And also when people say they should be running like 5 miles... You're not going to be running 5 miles on the rugby field are you? No! So stop it

It's not focussed on explosive power. That's why alot of people are saying that this kind of training is not for rugby. They are right but matches, doesn't matter if it's rugby, boxing or soccer, are won in the second half of the second half. And this kind of training does prepare you for that! When everyone is exhausted there are people that are used to exhaustion and still kick ass! They know that there is still strenght in them because they experienced that with this kind of training.

What's with the wrist position on some of these guys holding the kettlebell? I'm trying to think of a good reason why someone would have their wrist bent back like that. But other than the fact that their strength coach isn't correcting their form, I can't think of any.

I kettlebell sono i migliori attrezzi per sviluppare la forza e la resistenza, soltanto che la tecnica che mostrano è pessima; devono migliorare parecchio!

Wrong training. they're body building not strength training. Should be doing 1-3 reps not 6+. should be doing strength training, running and agility
@thissmoothie10 жыл бұрын
Hypertrophy has a place in training for rugby. Rugby is a collision sport so it's advantageous to have muscle mass so as to avoid injury.
@kale1111110 жыл бұрын
how is working with kettlebells bodybuilding?
@thissmoothie10 жыл бұрын
Bodybuilding training has nothing to do with equipment. You can use virtually anything from barbells to bodyweight exercises. It's the load used and the sets/reps the exercise is done for that determine whether you build muscle, strength, endurance etc.

They only do this training occasionally, just to kill them and put them in their place, it's tough and grueling just to remind of where they are in their fitness.

You are wrong there mate ... that session they are doing there is straight out of the 'new book' of training. Its not about massive weights anymore. The boys still lift, but they try and make them '360'' fit for rugby nowadays. That stuff they are doing there is all extremely difficult. Give it a shot. The first time I did it, I vomited all over the place.

@jasonfehily176510 жыл бұрын
This is not bodybuilding, they're doing strength and conditioning where they train to become faster,stronger,more endurance,stamina,etc. it's the opposite to bodybuilding where they workout to look good
