Thanks so much when I first heard this song I thought it sounded so good and that’s what inspired me to start playing guitar I was devoted to learn this song within a year of playing guitar and I learned it with only playing guitar for 8 months just practiced for hours every day while in quarantine

Nice work Devin ... your proficiency with that alternating bass really makes this song pop. Looks like you're playing an Ambertone D-18 ... the two of you are sure a good match - sounds awesome !! If I can get these first several measures figured out ... I'll jump on board for the rest. Cheers from N. Idaho !!

Great lesson! Any chance you could do Beaumont by Hayes Carll?

How do you mic your guitar? Sure sounds nice, where ever you got it and whatever mic it is. D-18s record great. Sounds like a million bucks on this lesson.
@countryguitaronline2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I believe this one was recorded with a combination of my Blue Bluebird mic just out of the frame and some audio comes in though the lapel mic on my shirt. It’s hard to mess up the audio with this D-18… for some reason it sounds great through most setups. Got lucky with it!

I noticed Colter Wall plays with a Capo on the 4th fret but it sounds like it's in the same key. Does he play in a different tuning?
@countryguitaronline4 жыл бұрын
Interesting, I actually didn’t even notice that! He uses the same chords and same key as in this lesson... he’s tuned down a whole step capo 4th fret. Not sure if he always plays it like that or maybe he had his guitar tuned down for another song when he played that set for the brewery.
@scottdarksetscoleman70423 жыл бұрын
He plays with it and drop c then capos it to give it that jangly sound
@That.Guy.2 жыл бұрын
Yes. He often drops down then capos back up to cancel it out. This gives him standard tuning in a short scale

@@countryguitaronline Damn, it's not free on KZbin. Shame, welp, thanks for the free upload of the first part. And given how quickly you responded (or responded at all), i'm gonna subscribe--for whatever that is worth to you :)

@@mlnyonasi sounds great, thanks! I make a living teaching guitar... wish I could give them all away free! Plenty of other lessons in the member area that you might like so maybe we’ll see you over there one day. A lot of people will sign up for the one month free trial and cancel. I definitely understand it.. at least people are able to learn from the videos anyways. Good luck -
