Nice video but losing the function of the lockscreen is a dealbreaker, hope you can do a video of a way to do it without losing that, I would buy a back from you if you can make one

The board in my classic 4th gen bluetooth video was able to power on and pair through a single button and was still able to retain the lock switch. I still have one of those left so i might do a video installing that in a classic 5, 6 or 7th gen.

Great vid, love the channel :) Followed your last guide (bluetooth+battery+flash on the 5th gen) but I used a tiny Ugreen BT5 transmitter from amazon, this way you can keep the hold button as the board uses one button to turn on and to pair, turns itself automatically after not being in use and it doesnt take up much more space than the bluetooth board used in these vids, wired it in the same as your video and it works amazingly well !

That box cutter... I would have zero fingers left before I got the pod open.....
@partspluspods368925 күн бұрын
oh yeah its supposed to be a dull box cutter blade, to the point where you can slide your finger across it without fear of being cut. They are ridiculously sharp when brand new. I had mentioned that in a previous video i think but seemed to forget it in this one.

very excited for a mod that has a Bluetooth toggle button and retains the lock toggle button. It seems like it wouldnt be too had to unsolder the switch off the bluetooth adapter, and then add wires to allow it to fit up against the center top of the case. though i supose youd need to carefully drill or dremel a hole through the side of the case

I bought this from your store. Unfortunately, one day, I forgot to turn off the bluetooth, and the circuit board fried. I confirmed this by opening up my iPod and checking it. I switched components and went back to the OG stuff, and everything worked. It's a bummer that it doesn't survive an accidental battery left on...

Thanks mate been loving your content + insta posts. Do you reckon I could bluetooth mod a fat back iPod that already has a taptic engine in place?
@partspluspods368927 күн бұрын
we have started offering the bluetooth back with taptic engine installed! There is a separate listing for a taptic engine on the website, just add that and the bluetooth back to cart and we can install it for you. It will fit in both the slim and thick bluetooth back as well.

@@partspluspods3689Thanks for the response! One more question, you mentioned that adding the larger antenna increases the difficulty quite a bit, but it looked like you just snapped off the old antenna and plugged in a new one. Is there more to it that I didn’t catch or is it that straightforward? I have a spare DS Lite antenna that I can use if it isn’t too much harder.

Good vid, seeing it all come together at the end was so satisfying (please show usb-C mod i want to attempt to do this too) I'm just concerned on doing this and it wont work with my Airpod Pros gen 2. It's my daily driver and would be such a good pair, but i know that BT transmitter might not work. Question: if a BT transmitter is BT v5.3 it should be compatible with the Airpod Pros Gen 2? if so are there any other Transmitters you recommend?
@aidenthesalesman311428 күн бұрын
in my experience, yeah this transmitter doesn't work with the airpods pro 2, but you can use other transmitters like the taotronics one that works with airpods pro 2, and toggles power via the pair button so you can keep your lock switch too

I have had some reports from customers that the airpods pro 2s will be choppy when paired with this board. I looked into it a little bit and it seems as if apple had designed them to require more bandwidth than what the standard bluetooth spec would allow as this is not the only device people were having that problem with, there were some reports of people running into that issue when connecting their airpods pro 2s to a windows pc even. Although i dont have any airpods pro 2s to test with myself so im not sure what does or doesnt work. But if you find a 3.5mm headphone jack adapter that does work with the airpods pro 2s you could just disassemble it and install it inside the ipod using the same steps as shown here. You may need to use the thick housing to get a lot of other boards to fit as most are bigger than this one. Some will also require a dc - dc isolator to remove background noise too, i showed than in my ipod classic 4 Bluetooth mod.

Will the board not use the extended antenna, if you don’t cut off the on board antenna?
@partspluspods368923 күн бұрын
it will still use it although the signal will be shared between the two. So if you cut it all the signal will just go through the antenna and this will give the strongest signal.

Question Wouldn't it be possible to connect the bluetooth adaptor to the 30 pin connector? I know there are some pins that output media digitally for car audio and dock if I'm not mistaken Of course that would need good soldering skills but possible if true
@-Gothicgirl-27 күн бұрын
Bluetooth to 30pin is not a good idea. Its get audio and can not change through the wheel. Only on the 3.5mm the volume can adjust. When you use the 30pin the headphones need a volume button. Thats the problem on nearly all 30pin to bluetooth adapter
