Thats great that you say that, but after the same outcome year after year after year after year, it just doesn't mean anything anymore. You can also say that "X number of programs in the country would love to be in this position"....thats great; PSU shouldn't strive to be "one of those teams". I can counter with those same X teams don't have the resources, fan/community support, alumni/letterman and backing that PSU has; so it's not crazy to expect more from PSU than from X school

This game should’ve been the Beau Show. If you want Allar in the game because of his prolific throwing arm, but then he takes absolutely NO shots downfield, then why even put him in and risk making his injury worse (potentially ruining our season and playoff push)? If I’m Beau, I’m leaving this program now. He did what was asked of him during the Wisconsin game, and he was rewarded by being benched. In my opinion, he should’ve been given at least one series (but probably 2 minimum) towards the second half of Q3 when it was well established that we couldn’t run the ball and our receivers never entered the stadium.
@chuckyjamesamartin1968Күн бұрын
Allar's not a good fit for this scheme. He'd be better fit at Ohio State or Oregon, at a place that can utilize his talents.

@Scooter679214 сағат бұрын
If you can, look at the all22. There was nowhere to go with the ball. Beau can run but if there’s no passing game it’s easy to stop that. Honestly not sure the outcome is much different at all with him under center.
@chrisgironda174613 сағат бұрын
Beau opens up the running game. If the running game gets going, then defensive backs need to play closer to the line to support run defense. Our receivers are supposed to be speedsters. They benefit from defensive backs playing closer to the line, but I guess I “don’t know ball”. Allar was able to break some runs for 5-10 yards, but that’s the point. He was not a threat to take it to the house, so Ohio State was fine with allowing him to get some yards. Beau is a threat to break longer runs. They would’ve played a different defensive front under those circumstances. It’s not as simple as saying “our receivers were not getting open, so it doesn’t matter who is QB”. That’s an extremely lazy take. Make a change to *get* them open. Beau is a significant enough change to make that happen. If he goes in and we lose, so what? We lost anyway, and as you can see the loss doesn’t matter in terms of our playoff chances. We played safe, and Franklin deserved to lose as a result.

Interception wasn't the problem. The corner made a great play, end of story. The problem was the play calling. Every time we threw the ball down field, we got a huge gain. The only exceptions were an obvious pass interference that wasn't called, and one incomplete pass. Thus: WHY WERE WE NOT THROWING THE BALL DOWN FIELD?! Why we almost every pass play going to the LOS or the flat? If there's no confidence in Drew's ability to deliver the ball, then he needs to sit, and someone else needs to be given a chance to lead the offense. If there is confidence in Drew's ability to deliver the ball: why isn't it getting done?

Name of the game is misdirection, getting numbers on one side of the field, taking advantage of mismatched. Then setting up shot plays off of that. Take a creative, disciplined play caller and team. As a HS OC hard to do but possible. This OSU team is vulnerable. James Franklin nd staff couldn't coach up to it though. The admitted (and obvious to EVERYONE) non-use of Warren on one of those first 3 downs inside the 5 is the EXACT type of coaching failure that has kept us from getting to the next level. There's something EVERY season in critical games... You don't see Franklin saying much in the headset during games (compared to guys like Kirby Smart) but when he probably does, I can't help but feel that it's telling the OC to "stay on schedule," and that it's more of a hindrance than a help in these games.
@bamapsu6906Күн бұрын
So when Warren is used that is all AK and when he is not that’s all JF? Did Allar have the option to pull the ball from RB on 1st and Goal at the 3? I’m thinking that was a read option and wrong read was made. For all the times this team did something exotic to score or to pick up a first I highly doubt JF said no to it. Shame on our OL for not being able to move anyone for 3 yards on 4 tries

You just actually have no idea do you?
@markm1202Күн бұрын
Allar could have pulled it on 2nd or 3rd third down. But he didn't really look, and legit question is did he/the coaches want to risk taking a shot on his injured knee (all the more reason to have Warren in there to make it a more viable option). Allar getting stood up trying to dive in is different than runs & open field slides when protection breaks down. There were some of the fancy wrinkles (not always helpful) but the offensive scheme looked more conservative. Who didn't think/hope that AK had some special things schemed up specifically for OSUs D that we hadn't seen yet? Most specifically to finally scheme our wr's open against a decent secondary
@bamapsu6906Күн бұрын
@ I don’t think they were overly concerned about his knee as the brace was off and he was not hesitant to run. Coach Captain Obvious's "OBVIOUSLY" count: 12. Interesting how no other press conference this year so far has had more than a couple OBVIOUSLY's. But once we lose for the first time this season, everything suddenly becomes really OBVIOUS. If everything was so obvious, then why did we lose embarrassingly when EVERYTHING WAS STACKED IN OUR FAVOR

Nobody asked if his infatuation with prototypical sized QB’s past and present vs QB’s with a full arsenal of tools and are proven winners plays a role in not being able to win the big games. Hackenberg, Clifford and now Allar type players vs McSorely, Pribula type players. Top tier teams nationwide have been winning far more big time games and national championships over the past 10 years with the well rounded QB than the “pocket passer” prototype.

1-10 against OSU is awful. You can’t erase a record coach. Same old song and dance. 🤦♂️. No WR’s. It’s all political. If he knows what to do..why not fix it. Envious of what? Loosing to the same team for over the last 10 years.

This guy stinks at coaching football. I’m so tired of the soul crushing disappointment. Keep yourself surrounded by “yes” men James, the entire rest of the football world knows how much of a fraud you and your team is.

6 points…. You scored 6 points against the only good team you will play this year.
