I am a big fan of bluey and with season 3 airing in Australia I thought I would do a breakdown of every two episodes with a small review, some spoilers, and any bluey theories that might pop up. Bob's fur just could've changed as he aged. The older my dog gets, the more of his reddish brown fur shows through his coat, he's also part heeler, so maybe it's a heeler thing 🤷‍♀️

I think she stopped doing it when physical health caught up to her bc of her age, but for me when I was a toddler it was a key thing to tell my great grandmas apart. Very interesting things you have gathered. If your theory is correct about Bob being a hands-off dad, then that would be very sad. It would also prove why Stripe is somewhat laidback, since it's a parent's job to push their kids. And like you said in the Fairytale review, Bandit's dedication to his daughters is likely due to his pain of feeling neglected. While we don't know for definite (yet), your points don't seem far off the mark.

We need more Uncle Rad! He's easily the best in regards to being an uncle. He's fun loving, but as stated, still has some standards. In Double Babysitter, I also liked how he grabbed Bluey, and held her upside down on the ceiling. But what really rounded him up as a cool uncle was when he put two and two together on why Bluey wasn't so big on babysitter put downs. Whenever he next appears in the show, and if he and Frisky have a kid together, I'd like to see them have a son. Not that there was ever a problem with the Heeler children being girls, but I'd just like to see more boys in the family. Especially since many people would mistake Bluey for a boy, when she's a girl.

loved getting some insight on a few aspects of aussie culture that are easy to miss as an american watcher! custard actually still exists and just released an album in 2020, "respect all lifeforms". dave mentioned in an interview about bluey that custard is really more of a hobby these days than something he focuses on, since he has his own kids to look after now. :)

In regards to Bob's markings. Maybe the spots on Bob are just age spots, people get them so i think it might just be a reference to that. Also, blue healers fur usually lightens in colour as they get older. That could explain the patches of red around bob's eye that he didn't have in his youth.

Another theory I could see is that possibly young Bob used to dye the spot blue, maybe for one reason or another not liking it being red/brown. And as he got older he got more comfortable in his natural fur colour

Looking at Bob, I can’t help but think that the younger Bob is Bandit and his brother’s biological father. And the Bob we meet when he’s older is a different man altogether. My theory being she divorced the first because of what a clearly less than loving father he was. Then later remarried or fell for another man. So it’s his memory she keeps close to her heart.

I really like the photos in Bluey. They ad a sense of history to it, adding clues to this family’s past-what is important enough for them to memorialize. It’s also impressive that the artists went to that amount of detail. Most shows show show flowers, or a sailboat or a generic guy in the picture frames.

A bit late on this, but here goes. 3:26 I have a theory about this, at least currently. I think Gerald is a reference to Dave McCormack's first band Who's Gerald. They released a single EP on their own label and were on a couple of compilations in the late 80's. The only song I've actually managed to find here on YT is "Pins and Needles" from 1988's Youngblood compilation. So Who's Gerald? I'm pretty sure it's Bandit himself.

I think that in the flashback, that dog was Bandit, Rad and Stripe's dad, but not necessarily grandpa Bob. If he was so neglecting of his children, perhaps Nana decided that her boys deserve better and divorced him. That would explain why both his personality and appearance changed so much in the series

I feel like Bob's fur most likely changed as he aged since it's pretty common for dogs fur coats and patterns to sometimes change. My dogs have had changes in their fur patterns as they aged with my chihuahua's fur changes being the most visible since he used to have black markings on his face which later disappeared as he got older so Bob's red patch and stripes showing up later in life is pretty realistic

I created some OC characters who are also apart of the Heeler Family. Theres: Tom Heeler who's Bandit's oldest brother who is Dark Turquoise and actually quite tall, he works as a firefighter although has a bit of an anger problem which he can keep undercontrol with the kids but not too good with his brothers Then there's his wife Kylie Heeler who's also a Blue Heeler but with grayish cyan fur and actually has long hair, she works at the hospital as a nurse The kids are Ryan Heeler who has the same colors as his dad and is Lucky's age aswell as best friend Finally there's Liam Heeler who is the same colour as his mum and is the same age as Bluey aswell as in her class, he's also friends with Rusty, MacKenzie and Jack

Somehow, Rad's pickup looks like a GMC Topkick by looking at how massive it is. Plus the decal on the tailgate looks like a Bluey take on the Autobot symble. This might make a theory that Rad likes Transformers. I mean, he was a teen in the 80's and Transformers came out during the 80's. Just my own head canon though. Anyways, as for favorite character from Bandit's side, it haves to be Bandit himself because he's fun. Plus, I have the middle child in my family and I do pick fun of my brother once in awhile.

Fun fact: The creator of the show is, as Bandit the middle child, and also has like him 2 daughteres around the same age. That means that the writer wrote Bandit to suit himself or just be an easter egg. We know that Bandit's younger borther was Stripe who is also voiced by the creator's littlebrother. We also know that the creator's vouces Bandit's mum. That means that: Banit is based on the creator so much so that his mum and his brother voice their show counterparts. And qlso means that when Stripe and Nana have a conversation when voiceacting they fit their in-life and in-show roles.

I feel like the ages are hard to pinpoint as they don’t express the year(s) that this takes place. We know the ages of Bluey and Bingo due to them stating it in a few episodes in addition to the birthdays. However the years could vary. If this is to take place during the year it was released, then Bandit would be around 40, Stripe would be around 38 and Rad would be around 42.

This may be a stretch, I think Bob’s “bite mark” is supposed to note that he’s been neutered. This is usually done with stray cats, but this show is always making references to more grown-up theme, vasectomy has already been brought up. I wouldn’t be surprised if they reference it visually in some way.

Of course bandit is the middle child and his dad forgot his name and probably put the least of his attention on him back when they were kids. And when nana went after him with a shoe after being blamed by his brothers I also thought that Radley was the youngest and stripe was the oldest til I looked it up a few days ago, stripe just looked the oldest to me as an adult and Radley looks the youngest probably because his Steve Harrington hair

My only quarrel is with Bandit’s age. Let’s just say he actually grew up throughout the 80’s and by the time he’s 10, it’s actually 1989. So technically he can say, “it was the 80s!” 2017-1979= 38 yrs old. Not approx 44. You have to go based off his age in the show. Then you add one year (because they’ve all aged a year since the pilot season.) But from 2017-2023, they weren’t aging in “real time,” if that makes sense. So he coooooould be as young as 39 yrs old. Completely side note now that I’ve watched this video, though…. If we think Frisky and Chile are similar ages, and they might just be a year or two younger than Bandit, then thinking Frisky might be 37-38 yrs old makes me a lot more hopeful her and Rad will have a baby 🤭
