Okay here's how they could, COULD, do a Dark Universe with these Blumhouse movie: The later introduce Van Helsing the Monster Hunter. Where he will be investigating different monster incidents because all of those events are tied to Dracula. Idk thats how id connect them.
@Sharpe1502Ай бұрын
I think they should just keep doing stand alone adaptations of the original stories. I don’t think they necessarily need to be a universe. That’s ultimately what led to the death of the original universal monster movies in the first place.

I don't know that Disney movie, but when I was younger, I did watch an animated movie called Under Wraps, where two archeologists are turned into mummies, and their two children have to find a way to turn them back, both as the parents grow more decomposed and braindead, and as they are pursued by an evil purple mummy and their parent's assistant. I remember there's a joke about driving while texting in it. And I haven't seen that movie in years.

I think The Invisible Man inadvertently triggered an attempt at another shared universe. The Wolf Man is releasing soon and we’re getting a Mummy reboot. And they’re all from Blumhouse. I think they’re just saying they’re not connected just so people don’t panic. It’s a simple, yet effective tactic. Marvel did this back in 2008. Iron Man wasn’t always intended as the start of a cinematic universe. They were still being picky at the idea even after the movie came out and it was just going to be a trilogy.

@ Yeah, but there’s so much potential still left with the franchise. The dream concept has so much potential, especially with good mode effects. Just cause one reboot flopped doesn’t mean it couldn’t work.
@Sharpe1502Ай бұрын
I’m excited because the original Mummy movies are considered to be some of the weaker Universal Monster movies and you can do a lot with that story. At this point, I don’t think a mummy necessarily needs to be Egyptian, there’s lots of different mummified remains being found everyday by archeologists from all over the world. I think if they move away from the Egyptian thing and go to a different country or culture, it could expand their casting pool and allow for a different story to be told that hasn’t been told before.
@TheWeirdAnimator2012Ай бұрын
They should make a whole sound about universal all those movies. It would probably be a good idea cause they could be so popular and also the money.🤑🤑🤑

@hidoradaikaiju4205Ай бұрын
You can ABSOLUTELY do a shared universe. It’s literally been done before. The problem is the way they tried to do it. That’s what didn’t work. The Marvel way doesn’t work with everything and studios need to stop trying it. The DCEU partially failed because of all the “set-up” in BvS. We’ll see what happens with DCU. The Mummy (2017) failed because of all the set-up and lack of focus on the actual mummy. Even though I love the movie, Van Helsing failed for multiple reasons. Edit: I forgot to mention Dracula Untold and Demeter. Enjoyed both, but one was too much like a superhero movie and the other either didn’t do it correctly or didn’t try hard enough.

Blumhouse is a highly overrated company and make more bad movies than good. I think The Invisible Man was a unique situation and Universal trusting them with all their franchises is gonna end badly. Look at what happened to Halloween, and The Exorcist, The Omen, and even their own Conjuring Universe. Everything they touch turns to brown, and the New Wolfman movie looks to continue that trend.
