Hi, I just got a 1999 1.6 Mk4 VW Golf for my daughters birthday. She will be getting her licence in April. So, just a quick note to say thanks for your videos. They will be a great help in the next few weeks doing all the odd jobs that a second hand car needs doing to get it 100% again, well maybe 95% haha. Like the Aerial Antenna, the mirror control switch, and a few other things as well. All common faults, by the looks of your videos. The vehicle will also need a service, so a big thank you for your video on that and how to reset the service indicator light. Great work, I don't really make videos for you KZbin, But I might make a couple and let you know how I got on. :)

Awesome! Finally some good dyi tutorials for 1.4 16v engine. Thanks a lot! May i ask you a question please? I hear'd there is a dryer in the air conditioning system. Is there any need to drain it or something like that?

Hey man, how often do you suggest redoing plugs? I have a 1.8t if that makes a difference from n/a. Great video(s) by the way. You've helped me out a number of times now, including redoing shocks and springs. I always look to see if you've made a video first whenever I'm working on my car.

I have a problem with my 2003, 1.6 SR Golf Generation (Australia). It's started to over heat. The temp gage will sit on normal for a long time, then raise rapidly til alarms sound, then, decrease rapidly.. too rapidly it would appear, for coolants to have actually cooled down that quickly. This happens very soon after returning on the Air con. Anything you may have to say about this would be awesome. Thanks so much... AGAIN. BTW, this was happening before I changed the oil and filter and air filters. onyer

Very nice video :) just pointing out the pollen filter looked like activated carbon version, which is greyish looking even when new as opposed to the basic paper one. Still recommend to replace once a year no matter what version you use.

Hey Man, I been watching your all your videos. Good work your doing there! I wanted to ask, I noticed in some other videos they change they also change the oil drain plug. Would I have to do this on my Golf mk5 TDI? Also I dont have specific measurement wrench, just those usual wrench. How would I know when to stop for 30nm when tightening it? Thanks in advance
@BMACVAGS10 жыл бұрын
Yes changing the sump plug is the best way, the only way to know the correct tightness is to get a torque wrench. It is a good investment if you intend on looking after your car and will avoid mistakes using this tool.

Hi there, Iv been seeing your videos for a while. I'm having problems with my mk5 golf 2004 1.4s that I recently purchased with 136k on the clock I had my a full services, full timing belt kit change. And oil pressure switch changed I keep constantly having a red oli pressure light every morning. After driving for 20mins the red oil light turns it self off And through the whole day it won't flash on again. Until the next morning. Also my engine makes a funny tapping/clicking noise when I start off in the morning and when I have my foot to the pedal the noise gets louder and after 20mins the engine warmed up. The noise totally goes and the engine sounds perfectly fine, like nothing has ever happen.. Hope you can help. Edward

I would love to find a similar tutorial for the timing belt.

Hi BMAC! Any chance you could do a vid on the same model vehicle showing... how to silicone in the gasket? As some will know, not all models have an actual 'compound' gasket that you just drop on and then screw back the cover. Mine is exactly the same as the one you've worked on in this quality vid and I for one would LOVE to see how that's done... many thanks in advance and keep up the good work fella :D
