You have to turn on the vehicle after the key is programmed for 5 secs, then the fob functions will work. Not sure why it happens but works every-time if it’s programmed correctly.

Hey Brian. Great video one comment, I have watched a few videos to see if I'm missing anything. I tried to add a key to a 2021 Dodge Promaster 2500 using the IM508. I cleared all ECM and BCM codes and erased all keys but wasn't successful adding the new purchased aftermarket key from a reliable vendor. Currently does anyone know if the key has to be a dealer purchased key? I diagnosed that the key was bad because it reads chip well in the XP200 and other chip readers. I even tried connecting to the gateway module which yield the same results. I also tried dealer key option too. Both of the original keys add again. Any suggestions?

You don’t erase all keys because it dose that already u add key. Did you generate a dealer key? He didn’t have to because it was already precoded

Hi Brian, I think BCM needs to go to sleep after fobs have been programmed in order for fobs to work. That is how BMW does it at times.

Hey Brian. Great video. I did one last week with the 608 and a aftermarket key. I was shocked how easy it was. Made dealer key and it programmed right in, however, the remote did something weird like it would make noise at the front doors but would not actually unlock them. The original remote would properly unlock all doors. I called uhs and they suggested a refurbished oem key. I went and did it today and again, went great but this time the remote don't work at all. I see you had a the same issue and someone said something about BCM going to sleep. Just wondering if you have any expanded knowledge on this. Would like to wrap this one up. Lol

@@BrianMann216 The flashers must remain on during programming to resolve this concern. Also, the BCM has had recent software updates to further resolve this as well.

i will be attempting to do a aftermarket remote key for this vehicle tomorrow, it's not precoded, so I will need to precode, pull pin, and program. Will let you know how it go's.

@@BrianMann216 It failed, but it was related to the keys I bought. I matched the correct FCC ID# and purchased from a good supplier (Midwest Keyless). I double checked everything, the pre-code process was successful. But the keys refused to program. We ended up buying OEM cut and pre-coded keys from the dealer, and they programmed in easily. I don't know if the issue was with the PRE-Code process (which appeared to be successful) or the particular Key blank used. (aftermarket, remote flip style). This whole process was a bit janky. The 508 does have the ability pre-code these keys however. This procedure also failed with an Auto Pro Pad Full. Similar reasons.

Hey Brian are you sure the light next to the temp gauge is the security light? If you look closely under the time display on the dash you can see a picture of a car with a lock like GM uses.

From my understanding..."dealer" key just meant making a master key. Can you tell me what this video meant when referring to a dealer key? Does that mean I cannot use aftermarket keys?

Hi Brian. I have the IM508 registered with AutoAuth, but I couldn't pull the pin from a 2020 Ram 1500 today. Do you think it is an issue with the IM508 or possibly with the 2020 Ram? I tried to find information regarding this online, but there just isn't much out there right now. btw I'm in Amherst.

@@treycamp2657 You will not be able to pull any pin codes with the IM508 when working on a 2018 and up Chrysler that utilizes a security gateway module (SGM). You can buy a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep security gateway bypass cable (just do a search for it). I bought one, but I haven't had the opportunity to try it yet. What you do is connect your IM508's cable to the security gateway bypass cable. Then plug the two leads of the bypass cable directly into the star connector and gain access to the vehicle network that way (not through the DLC). Do a search on youtube and you will see countless videos showing how to connect the bypass cable to the star connector. FYI the location of the star connector varies. It could be behind the glove box, in the left kick panel, in the right kick panel, in the headliner, or in the trunk. Also be aware that not all Chrysler vehicles utilize a star connector. Finally, do not be surprised if this procedure stops working in the future. Chrysler wants all security weaknesses corrected to prevent vehicle theft. The bypass cable is inexpensive so it's worth buying it. You can find it at most locksmith sites. Do not buy the 12 + 8 cable/splitter that is meant to plug into the SGM's cables. You want the bypass cable that has two leads on the end of the cable. Those two leads may be separate or they may be in a small white connector meant to plug directly into the star connector. We tried a 2500 pro master with an aftermarket key. We preceded using immo data and the a400 tool. Went to program and get wrong pin code. Do you know about that? Customer has 2 vans we need to do The failure was a 14 the other is a 17.

I had a shop call me out to pair a new programmed PCM to Immo/BCM on a 2016 Promaster. The service info says to perform PCM replace function but don’t see it listed on the Autel or the Wi-Tech 2. It will run with old PCM plugged in but no start and a U0426-62 minikrypt fault with the new one. Is there a different procedure to pair them?

I have not done one of those yet. I have done the promaster city pcms. There is no replace pcm function on those.. only a virgin pcm can be used OR you will have to crack 5he case on the original and copy the eeprom info to the new one.. I have no idea about the full size one.

This question is for Brian or any of y'all that might be able to help me out. I know this video is a few months old. I have to swallow my pride here because It's a little embarrassing for me to ask this question since I've been in the locksmith over 10 years... But these Dodge ProMasters / Fiats are whooping my ass...lol. I'm trying to figure out what key to purchase if my customer lost all keys? All my key blank providers are giving me an option to choose from a Delphi BCM key or Marelli BCM key. For example -- I have a customer, actually my neighbor who has a 2017 ProMaster 1500 ALL KEYS LOST.. ..When I Go to order them from American key supply or UHS hardware it's making me choose between A "Marelli BCM" and "Delphi BCM"...... Is there a way I can be confident that I'm purchasing the correct key typy? Or maybe there's a simple way for me to find out which BCM I have, I'm not sure.... I use the IM508 and the Autopropad G2. If anyone has any knowledge or advice you can drop on me I'd greatly appreciated it. Thanks! -John cjlocksmith.city

On the driver's side of the vehicle, lower left side of knee bolster there is a small panel with 2 small screws. Remove it and you will see the BCM which contains several fuses. There will be a white label on the front in most cases and in rare occasions it will be on the back.

Hey Brian. I have a 21 Promaster in my lot that is giving me a bit of trouble. Autel's website says that OBD2 functionality is supported, but their tech support does not. When I go in through the OBD2 it says that password reading is not supported. Do you think this would likely be solved by going in with the 12+8 connector? And if so, is it behind the radio like they commonly are? Thanks in advance.

Weak parts ,electrical systems not clear at all , absolutely garbage.
