For me your videos are color and light porn. Like the feel of the final shot of the bicyclist riding down the center frame. The rectangle of light on the street, the circle ring things on the floor where the metal rings are catching the light, the dappled light on the left side of the frame, and then the flare at the end are all beautiful. I have a friend who loves to say, "that's so aesthetic." You have a great eye for light and composition. I am not sure if you are consciously picking these locations with all this photographic interest. But you are shooting at the right time of day; it always seems like you just have the right light for nearly every shot, which is hard to do.

Thank you very much, Kevin. Regarding the time of shoot, you’re absolutely right. I always shoot for a couple of hours before the sunset and if the weather sucks I go home. I’m very picky about the light and glad that you’ve enjoyed my tastes! In terms of locations, I like to shoot both very Tokyo-ish cities and unknown towns like this one. Unlike the central Tokyo, nobody carries a camera and photograph and I’m the only one who does that. I actually like that very much.

@@ShugoAkatsuka Okay so you are conscious about your light, and time of day. I see a lot of other filmmakers on KZbin shoot in whatever light is there, and you always seem to have the perfect light. Good to know that your cinematography is a result of patience.
