Not really man, I've not very good at bashing tracks out in a short period of time. Most of these example track take me around 20 hours to complete, the result of a two hour session probably wouldn't be worth watching. I also tend to do a lot of experimentation so half the stuff I create ends up in the bin cause it sounds awful. I think most people would tune out after a few minute's haha

What about releasing "Connect" on streaming platforms? The track is so well produced, sometimes I come here just to listen to it. I would easily put it in a playlist along with tracks from Jon Hopkins, Max Cooper, Holographic Field...

Hey man, the main reason I don't release these tracks is that they are my attempt at emulating (to the best of my ability) the sound of another artist. It's one thing to be influenced and inspired by other artists but another to release music which was originally created to sound as close to someone else's music as possible. Basically I feel detached from these songs personally, they're not what I would choose to release to the world as 'mine'. Though I do draw strong inspiration from all the artists I cover on this channel you can hear their influences in my own music (which I will be sending out within the next couple of years in the form of an album). I'm not too familiar with Holographic Field and I'm always on the hunt for new music so thanks for the accidental recommendation ; )

@@BrendanPark07 I understand what you're saying, I often copy other artists not to release any of the results yet to incorporate what I learned in my own music later on. I'm glad you're aiming to release an album (I'm doing that too), I'll wait for it! Also glad to make you discover Holographic Filed, "Illuminate" is such an ambient techno masterpiece for me. Maybe you could make a tutorial on that in the future if you like it as much as I do.

Sounds awesome! Do you mix & master your tracks yourself? Where did you learn it?

The basis of my mixing knowledge (learning how to use EQ, Compression, Effects) was mainly from my time in college studying sound production as well as various other KZbin channels. Most of the skill just comes from analytically listening to music and working on your own stuff, slowly over time you just get better. So much of it is also up to your own taste. I do a little mastering just to bring the final track up to 0dB and keep everything level. I don't bother too much with this as I would never master a track myself if I was going to release it, as per the industry standard for good reason.

Hi Brendan, great content as always. The only thing uncovered in this tutorial are the glitchy/stereo percs underneath the synth line in the intro, would you explain how you managed to create that texture? (Also the Example Track sounds fucking great here, it felt a bit empty in the previous video... I'm glad you kept working on it)

Hey man, just to clarify do you mean the bit from 00:00 - 00:33? If so, I cover the sound in the video from 06:48 - 08:42. It's just the same effected loops that appear in the verse only with a Low Pass Filter on it to take off all the high end.

sounds great, but putting all of these sounds through amplifiers and other types of real speakers/cabinets/pedals would help give it a more expensive full length LP sound.
