BMO has lived for at least a thousand years, and has spent a lot of that burying and mourning the most important people in his life. And yet, he still has the strength and wonder in what the world has to offer, and still finds a way to befriend and bewilder everyone he comes across. This may not have been sung by BMO, but it feels like the perfect song for him. He has a lot to be sad about today, but understands that soon rises the moon, and with it, a new night, and a new opportunity to see the continued beauty of the world, in all its pain and all its splendor.

Hearing BMO sing it feels like it's a symbol of how our childhoods have faded away like smoke, we're all too tired for our age. We were strange children, spending our developmental teenage years watching the days go by so slowly, yet the felt as if they flew so quickly. We hear older adults tell us that these years will go twice as fast, and whilst the day lasts forever, the years will pass us as the moon rises. We hold on to our childhood, the moon a constant in our lives. But, the Adventure is over. BMO will forever live on as a child, a forever boy. But we must age. The moon rises and we add another day. We find comfort in the constants, in a ever-changing world. In a world that always feels as though it is getting worse. We can hope though, hope our future holds love, holds people we have yet to love. Hope the future gives us our favourite song, our favourite movie, a happy life. And as our childhood has far long gone, we come back, listen, and remind ourselves of the peace. The peace of being alone in your room while the world is asleep, listening to this one video.

It’s been almost a year since I lost my best friend. They didn’t have a grave and I found out that their last wish was to have their ashes scattered in Lake Michigan to join their grandparents. This reminds me of the time bmo was helping marcaline with a flash drive. Only to discover it was filled with pictures of a young marcy and her mom. Marcy asked Bmo to imagine the context behind them in order to deflect from her feelings.
