Pro-Tip: The GH5 doesn't use V-Gamut for its colorspace. So choosing V-Gamut as input will push your image for towards pink because it's using Bt.709 primaries already. You should leave the input for colorspace empty inside the CST on the GH5. The only DSLM using V-Gamut actually are the S1H, S5 and S1.

I know the GH5 doesnt use proper V-Gamut but it still tries to match their other V-Log cameras which do. I also tested it with the official Panasonic LUT just to be sure and the results in-terms of colour and the magenta skin tones are very similar. I think most people whp have used the GH5 can confirm that you have to remove a ton of magenta to get pleasing skin tones.

@@carlscinema7086 That's why I'm recommending leaving the gamut untouched. V-Log L uses Bt.709 primaries while V-Log/V-Gamut uses Bt.2020. An entirely different colorspace basically.

A is bmpcc4k b is gh5. I prefer A since the skin tones match the color, just like how it feels

Great video. If we have to pixel peep and nit pick then the images are close enough to ignore comparing image quality. They are both great. Now it depends on what you do and if you need the IBIS and Continuous AF (even though it’s not that great, you can’t ignore the fact that it does have it) Flipscreen, in camera Vector/Histogram and the list goes on.

Out of curiosity why didn't you use 400mbs for the gh5 on vlog? I have always heard that using 150 wasn't enough. Thoughts?
@carlscinema70863 жыл бұрын
The 400 mbps option isnt really an upgrade in terms of visual quality compared to the 150 mbps option. 400 isnt just more data with the same style of compression, its All-I (intra frame compression) vs Long-GOP (inter frame compression). All-I compresses every frame individually and therefore needs more data for the same visual quality. Visually you probably wouldnt be able to tell them apart. The real difference is in editing performance, All-I is much easier on the CPU.
