If you want that "ARRI" look and flexibility in post, get a Canon 100D/EOS M/650D/700D. Those cameras support a software called Magic Lantern Crop Mood which supports 2.7MP-3.2MP (Basically 74% more pixels than 1080p and up to half the pixel count of 4K) at 14bit linear uncompressed raw just like the ARRI. The Maximum usable dynamic range is 11.2 stops in normal mode and up to 13.4 stops usable in dual iso. The RAW files are so flexible it's actually incredible and are the only i've graded today that came anywhere close to ARRIRAW for under 2000$.

Magic lantern really brings new life to those older cameras! I used an EOS M with back when I started.

In the filmmaking community most people are NOT making films or anything great for that matter, so since they're not really creative people and they can't really focus on quality content they focus on the gear.

It's easy to get lost in the rabbit hole of all the new gear, but you've really showed that you can create quality content even with older gear :)

What if I use a Sony a350 from 2008

I use A300 with minolta lenses + sometimes mintola slr cameras. depends on what you want to shoot. I mostly shoot on a sunny day where CCD sensor really shines.
