Tire. I love trash being reused. Re the trouser situation: This is the exact reason why all of my clothing is 100 % cotton. Once I wore some fashionable jeans, containing elastane, and they melted to my thigh. Not nice.

I absolutely love the tire sculptures for many reasons including re-use, makes for a beautiful covering and is highly creative. But I also love the wood / acrylic sculptures too.

This is both a great but also challenging material to sculpt with. I find it very hard to get fine detail with it, this is incredible! Thank you for taking the time to film the process and sharing!

On your last video I suggested that your sculptures were too perfect, too idyllic, impossibly flawless depictions of nature. Wow is this sculpture a departure from that. I absolutely love how this alligator looks. It's vivid, it's raw, it's unfiltered, exactly as nature can be. Great job mate.

17:38 done and done! Great work, my dad had all girls...I was the closest boy he had. Nothing better than being under the car with him, or his assistant on his builds. The 1st thing he ever made with me was an alligator out of wood and rubber for me to drag around on a string. Still got it with the heart and I love you inscribed under his rubber tongue... LOVED this, my dad would love your channel of he was still here. Congrats on all your commissions happy creating!

You can paint the back of the staples while they’re still in the box all attached. That way when you shoot them in they’re already the right colour

In the bison video, he said he had tried that but since the staple gun shoots them out with such a high speed, that paint comes off. So he has to paint them at the end.

I like how you recycled tires. How you recycled tires is amazing. This piece depicts a heavy animal. It looks like a heavy animal, but your other material choices were also amazing, making this sculpture manageable. Hope the clients liked it.

I am a huge fan of the epoxy and wood sculptures. That being said, the eagle and now Tripod make it really difficult not to love the tire sculptures aswell. Fantastic work all around!

I'm no expert, but I honestly believe that your ability to create such a life-like sculpture out of foam and tires is not too far off from Michelangelo's ability to do the same with marble. This is an absolute masterpiece! The things you do will always amaze me

Cladding the Alligator in bicycle tyre treads was a masterstroke. I wasn't sure that was going to work but it looks awesome. The sculpture is amazing

Incredible piece of art, the texture of the tire fits so well I won't ever see a crocodilian without associating it with tires again. Also, I couldn't help but shiver at the thought of some bird pooping on it while it was being transported and installed outside. 🤣

You never fail to amaze us, Blake. I was wondering when an alligator was going to be the target of these foam/fiberglass/tire sculptures. The result is better than what i could have possibly imagined. While i'm not a fan of golf or its negative environmental impact on native ecosystems/biodiversity, i can still very much see just how much of an honor it was to have this commissioned by Zurich. What a spectacular feat. Truly cannot wait to see what you'll do next (as always). If i only had the money, i would love to commission you to sculpt me a piece of my original alien species. A distant dream to be, im sure but its still fun to imagine X)

Just so you know, golf courses provide significant natural areas that benefit people and wildlife in increasingly urbanized communities across North America and throughout the world (according to Audubon International).

@@Just_Smile-n2w Aah! i didn't mean any disrespect to the piece by it, im awfully sorry. Also i wasn't aware of there being much environmental benefits. That's on me. Most things i've read on/heard of tend to focus on the loss of biodiversity with how much of the land gets turned from untouched prarie (with wild flowers and herbs and shrubs with their own fauna of course) into regularly trimmed grass and the heavy use of pesticides. I was happy to read that they do try to be more eco friendly and provide for the wildlife that they allow to stick close-ish. Thank you for the enlightement :3

congratulations your sculptures are really amazing! the most boring part must be touching up all the nails with black paint. Have you ever tried using black nails or doing a coating treatment to darken the staples before using them? if you find the right formula you could save a lot of time. anyway you're really great, your videos are a great source of inspiration!

You did a wonderful job on the gator. It looks so real! The texture of the tires so perfectly resembles not only the hard, jagged top side of the beast but the soft, vulnerable underbelly as well! Dear Heart! You inspired me!! For a long time, I've wanted a tire sculpture of a HUUUUGE snake I once saw posted on farcebk. It was coiled to strike and it was fearsome. Now, personally, i don't like snakes, but this snake was AWEsome! Stick THAT in your front yard and you'd have no need for an alarm system!! Making my own version would be right up my alley. As super cool as this is (and it IS super cool!), I think you maybe missed an opportunity with the eyes. There are some really amazing YT videos out here teaching how to create reptile/dragon eyes with the elongated pupil which are made from acrylic. They can have absolutely amazing colors (blue, green, red, orange) and follow the high and low light flecks you would see in animals. Maybe next time you do a reptile-like project, you could try your hand at making custom eyes?! Great work as always!
