Excellent DIY video. It really gave me the way forward. I have 2 further tips, you don't need to take the sway bar link off the bottom and I used the spring compressors to help get the strut under the fender.

How long does it take to replace a set of shocks on an e82? Just asking because I have to get mine replaced 😔

Did you have trouble getting the new damper far enough through to get the nut on? I let the tension off the spring and cant compress it enough now to get the nut on.

Hi Andy...Put the jack underneath to push up on the strut from below...check around 16 minutes in, you can see how I have a block of wood underneath the hub and I'm using my jack to compress the suspension in order to put load on all the components and tighten everything.

Also I found it was easier to put the top on first and then push up on the bottom with the jack to tighten the bottom parts. I had to rewatch my video to remind myself what I did ;)
