BMW 330e F30 B48 charge pipe and intake pipe upgrade tutorial

This late 2017 BMW F30 330e is powered by a robust 2.0 twin scroll turbo B48 engine coupled with an electric motor (113hp). The engine has been upgraded to a higher power output, hence the stock plastic OEM charge and intake pipes might not be able to withstand the increased boost pressure ultimately blowing up the motor. Therefore, it requires an upgrade to take in all that extra boost. The aluminium charge pipe both increases flow and improves the reliability of the engine.

nice but you did not show how unplug sensors, not wires only sensors from tube, one has 2 clips but this second? you can show after if is unscrew and disconnect because now I have problem

Hello. I own a bmw 330e and i have 90k miles on board now. Can you please tell me when or if i should replace the timing chain?

Constantin Marin i dont think the timing chain needs to be replaced at that mileage. Worst case would be the timing chain tensioners that is made of plastic which can be subjected to wear and tear. B48 dont hv N20 timing chain issues, therefore rest assured all is good.

Hi I own a 330e 38000 miles less than 4 years old in August the timing chain snapped I’ve just had a total engine rebuild at the cost of £3802 I have contacted bmw UK no goodwill at all totally disgusting by bmw so renew the chain mate my guides were ok no wear marks or rubbing at all. It’s now in the hands of the vehicle Ombusman hopefully he will find in my favour.

How do you remove the vacuum pipe on the last intake piece I got that far and got stuck doesn’t really show in the video

I figured this out - but I am having issues with the C clip at the end attaching to the oem air box in the video it looks like you had issues too with it

I got a 2016 330e... i just bought the VSRF downpipe.... did you ever change yours? I was planning to go bm3 stage 2. It would be nice if there was a tutorial on this...

Yes mine is on custom downpipe - Im on custom stage 2 remap. many friends here is on BM3 stage 2.. theirs packed more power..

@@MrArmaniStyle Well. My engine blew, had to get it replaced. 24k quoted at BMW. I have a friend that works as service advisor so I got the engine replaced with new fly for 18k. Still have all the mods on but I drive it like it's my 1st car now. Should really take everything off...

I just installed the ftp inlet pipe with evolution racewerks charge pipe and car feels slower now i was expecting a slight difference on the throttle but it almost feels a tad sluggish the first 3 secs of throttle

@ElykElyk-qi2fh so each upgrade I did I always tested it out in comfort mode to see if there was a difference because imo if there's a difference in comfort mode there's a difference period. So up until my last w mods I felt a difference in comfort. Drove for a while IN sport+ and could see the car wasn't slower at all maybe just my expectations were to high for sport mode since I noticed a difference in comfort I was really expecting alot out of sport + but sport+ is impressive on its own w stock parts. Hope that made sense lol thanks for responding

I have FTP charge pipe and intake pipe. But, I dont know if it's necessary. I think chargepipe failure was more on the older engines not b48.

This is a problem in B58 engine. I have read some people B58 owners had issues because ftp charge pipe touches coolant hose and It caused leaks. I'm going to install ftp charge pipe in my F20 B48 and I hope It won't cause problems.
