BMW 335i 2E7C Fault Code Fixed! (Intelligent Battery Sensor)

Smallest impact like tapping on the terminal during install or like my wife bumped my car with hers without telling me caused the ibs to disconnect power partially. There's like a blast cap internally that goes off if detects impact.

Yea I think mine went out when I replaced my battery. I didn't know they were so fragile.

Do you know how many pins does the BSD male cable have? (small blue connector in IBS Negative battery cable)

I sold the car now but I believe that small blue one had 3 pins

OK did you have the register the battery after you connected everything because I still have the same code up there let me know I can’t even check my oil and do not let my water pump run turn it on and off

Yea I had to register the battery for sure with INPA, MHD has an option to register battery but idk if it’ll be accurate if you’re changing battery types

OK see I never change my battery I just disconnected my battery when I was changing a part on the car crank sensor and I was gonna get the Bimmer Coding app let me know what you think I mostly do all my own work but I’m send it in the shop the on 30th he will look at it because he’s really good with BMW that’s all he specializes in But until then I’m going to continue on searching but let me know what you think before I sent it to him

Aww ok, that sounds like what made my ibs go out.. willing to bet if you get a new ibs sensor it’ll go away

🤔 and you said the water pump don’t turn off? That might be the next thing you got to change honestly, I had to change my water pump, thermostat, battery and ibs for it to go away

It’s all kind of weird, I think it was going out but I’m not sure because of the battery being bad so it’s hard to tell if it was already going out or not, if I had to guess I’d say it was

I believe it was due to the ins sensor since they are all connected and that blue cable going into the power distributor box above the battery is linked to it
