No, 528i had the n53 first and then was replaced by the 4 cylinder turbo 1997 cc n20, and the 530i kept the n53 until end of production, the only e60 that used the n53 were the 525i and the 530i from 2007 to 2010

Average Bro hello, 528i is great, but I would recommend you to buy much more interesting 535i which is also more reliable due to issues with injector in N53

Well, 528i with 8speed automatic seems to be the best choice. 6speed Manual transmission isn't good compared to the luxurious character of BMW F10. 535i costs much more on service, but the dynamic point of view is honestly on the next level. It's up to you, if you prefer atmospherical character of 528i or pure acceleration of 535i.

I have a software tuned 523i, with the same n53 3.0 litre engine, with 265 hp. In town it's 10-11 L/100km. On longer trips i managed to get 6.7L/100km. Combined around 8-9L

Be sure the injectors are good. Very expensive and you must change them all 6 if older versions are fitted. And oil consumption is high by design.

n53 is a piece of shit. Whole injection system is a one big failure. Injectors, fuel pumps, Nox system. Even fuel return pipes could give frustrating sounds.

i recon around 250 even without limited, fastest i have had ours up to was 235, and i don't think there was more than another 15kphs in it. Its not really all that powerful of an engine, just beautifully smooth
