Great video!!! Is this fix still going strong in the car? I would be interested to know, since I also own an E65 and have tried to solder several materials onto the worn wipers, but after a few months the error would come back... Haven't tried your idea yet though.

Hi Unfortunately I can really tell... I presume yes, has I have not been asked or told otherwise... I found the other day something that looks even better than the stuff I used on this video... The accelerator pedal of a Corsa D has some brushes that look really good .. You can get hold of one on eBay for less than 20... Thank you for watching and for your comment!
@xwu81476 жыл бұрын
@@LMAutoRepairs Hi, Thanks a lot for your comments! I will consider the accelerator pedal! And if you do happen to get any feedback from the E65 owner, please do let me know! It is my impression that BMW engineers selected the very thin/fine wiper material for a reason. Any thicker wires that I have soldered on, would sooner or later trigger the error again. Thinner ones would wear very quickly. But perhaps the (relatively thick) phosphor bronze wipers from your VR do the trick anyway! Do you remember which brand/type of VR you used?

@@saren6538 You replaced the wheel or the module I show in this video? Nevertheless, there is a small module inside the steering... you either need to program it now, or move the internals from the original wheel... Unless that was the reason why you changed it... Hope that helps...

LM Auto Repairs no I had the standard steering wheel as in your video and bought a 3 spoke (looks nicer) I also cleaned all the angle sensor out while I was in there. I’ve lost the horn, heated steering wheel button no longer activates... I can’t transfer the fittings as it’s different fittings inside. I’ve cleared all the codes and they’ve came back. I found a document online saying Step 1 Program the SZL with WinKFP using the correct VIn Step 2 Set steering angle adjustment and recode the module Step 3 Reset the system time to stop the airbag warnings Things is I’ve no idea how to do any of that
@LMAutoRepairs5 жыл бұрын
@@saren6538 But the SZL is the module in this video... not the steering... If you don't know how to work with those softwares, either read about it untill you feel confident, or get someone that knows what is doing... Can become way more messy very quickly...
