I’d be interested to see how the standard hk underseat woofers play when given decent power and dsp tuning. As much as I love the idea of upgrading the drivers they do seem very expensive for what they do….would you ever dare to pop the standard woofers back under the seats and run the test on them? I know the outcome may not be good for business but it’d be interesting to see how they perform compared to £700 morels….🤔

Problem is the bmw HK 8” are a funny resistance so they don’t get the most out of after market amps (from memory. I’ll double check tomorrow)

Out of interest, how did those plug and play Morel mids compare to the Steg mss3's that you took out?

I’m still experimenting. The stegs are a very very good speaker but in reality they are a similar price to the morel mid. I need to try the steg MSS1M in the BMW. I like to keep speakers matched brand really. OCD.

😊 Strange you didn't go for the complete Audison set up. i.e, Audison Bit DMI OEM MOST signal interface - TOSLink into Audison Bit One Vertuoso, then AV & AC link into 2 x Audison VOCE 5.1K amps. Am hoping to herar why you didn't go for this set up. Great video nice set up 👆.

Because it’s old tech and there are better ways of doing things now. The Voce amps are good but personally the Bit One DSP was no where near the level of the Helix DSP. Once you decide that it removes the option of using the DA link. The theory was brilliant and I hope they do something similar with any new Voce range they come out with as I’d love to try it then but it would HAVE to be with the new forza DSP software.

So, is there any DSP that has similar functionality to the digital inputs of the voce amps? Let's say I am in the market to upgrade my dsp, but I would want to keep my voce amps 🤔 .
@cambridgeautosoundКүн бұрын
@@venus263 no. none. For the DA link you need the Bit 1 or Bit 1 Virtuoso or Bit Ten D. All very old DSPs now and all lacking in features compared to the new Audison Forza DSP software. This is why I had to switch out the Quattro amps on the RS6 I did recently. Also I didn't say in the video, but I do have MOST digital integration with the Helix SDMI25 (now no longer available)

Hello Mr Jedi Knight (DW long time! lol) Ive been looking at the Earthquakes, I had them in my 130i and now looking to get them for my 640d....I did see the Audison but looking at forum posts the earthquakes seem to be the ones to go for as they are more low bass than midbass? TBH I want a JL Audio 12W6 or slimeline sub in the boot with a 600/1.....

Hello. Sorry I don’t recognise the screen name but yes I did used to be on there back on the day. I’ve not used the earthquakes but I’m happy with what’s available in the uk. The Audison play very nicely. Plenty low enough for 8” under seats. Have a look at the new wavtech thinpro 12. I’ll be testing that in my car over the next couple of months.
