Wonderful. Only the cost of ownership prevent me. But that is similar, to current bicycles and just about anything manufactured. Thanks, nice review.

I'll be honest as a vehicle driver with hundred of thousands of mile under my belt I would sometimes notice bike lane splitting in my mirror, but on the whole bikes would pass my vehicle lane splitting before I noticed them, even with loud pipes.

I quite like the front half. When they get around to finishing the rear end, it should be a decent looking bike.

I work 40km from home with 25km of motorway. I wonder if the battery would get me to and from work?
@route21garage Жыл бұрын

I drive 24 miles to and from for my commute . I use approximately 40 % battery to get there , and 40% battery to get back . I normally have 20 % battery remaining when I get back . But I have to stick to the city streets, and it takes over an hour for my commute in stop and go traffic going 40 to 50 mph in eco mode. I made the mistake of taking it on the highway . It took 70 % battery to travel 24 miles , and I had to recharge when I got there, which added an hour and a half to my trip just to get back. If you're going 40 to 50 mph in stop and go traffic, the bike should go 60 miles. You can do it . But I dont think it's possible on 1 charge if you're driving on the highway for any stretch
@chrisfifield858311 ай бұрын
Driving on the highway drains the battery way faster than I realized
@Romiman111 ай бұрын
I also have one and I have 35km one way with about 30km motorway from. I also need about 30-40% for one trip. Not doing more than real 100km/h (105 speedo) on the motorway, I 'll get 1km range for 1% battery load. (Innercity it's way more.)

Is it possible to lower the charging power to say 1500W (7A) so it doesn't overload my 48V inverter? Any guidance appreciated.
@route21garage7 ай бұрын
I could not answer that. You would have to check with BMW and also check how it would affect your warranty

@route21garage10 ай бұрын
I would say no to this scooter as it produces all its go from 0rpm. Traditional scooter with combustion engine builds power gradually as rpm builds which I would say is more manageable for a first timer

Anything in a 400cc scooter category that you feel relaxed in a riding position for a year or so. Thrashing that around till you feel confident then you’ll have a blast on this Beemer
@bfarm449 ай бұрын
Also this has a different dynamic with its wheel base being as long as it is. If there’s a rental place around you might be a good idea to see if they can get you started. Picking too small of a scooter can be a difficult experience too.

I’m pretty intrigued by this Scooter. Don’t know when to use it though. Am a Triumph Speed Twin rider and Love the sound. Next will probably be a Moto Guzzi Mandello V100 for me and the misses for travel. Where would this fit in? As a commuter? Nah rather go with the Triumph. As a novelty? Yeah maybe. As a must have if I can’t drive on renewable fuels because politicians decide to go even More bonkers? Yes then maybe. BUT that said. Had I had the money I would Absolutely buy one, looks cool and practical. Ok a normal scooter with a Normal seat is even more practical but… still

I’m a tech geek and like these but the price for the range isn’t good. And there should be an optional plug and play extender battery for that storage compartment option in that price. Just sticking their moniker on it doesn’t make it all that great. Silk hatting a pig is still a pig. Rich boys toy who has time to deal with the issues.

For some mysterious reason the fly screen is only available in clear in the US but a can of krylon stained glass spray paint shot onto the back of it is an eight dollar cure for that stupidity. I’d get one if I win the money on a lottery ticket because the geek in me loves it and the 40 years on motorcycles loves everything on two wheels
