Thanks for vid just to mention you need to unbolt bottom nut of shock absorber first thanks for taking the time to do this vid !!

Thanks for the video! I just came from a shop where they wanted $600 in labor to put these in. I tried a spring compressor but there isn’t enough room in there. Dropping the arm looks like a faster easier way to get it done. You saved me money so thanks!

Thank you for making the video, sometimes it's great to see the average guy doing with DIY tools rather than the pros in a hi-tech workshop.

Thank you for the video; I'll be doing the same, shortly but on both sides; I'm wondering if the springs could be removed/installed using a "spring compressing tool", instead of removing the arms
@chuyp1182 жыл бұрын
Hmm im not sure if thats possible your talking about the rear springs correct? Its not to hard to remove the arms . Just remember to get your vehicle aligned whats your finished.
@murphworks2 жыл бұрын
It is possible, and it's actually the correct way to do this job instead of removing the arms completely. You'll need an internal spring compressor. Worst case you might have to remove the inner bolt only.

How did you get the control arm to clear the knuckle? When I raise the control arm there’s a thin metal rail that hit the knuckle. At 14:31 and 15:37 when you raise the arm you see the knuckle moving up with the control arm. I’m stuck at the spot.
@chuyp1185 ай бұрын
You need to play with it a little as ur raising up on the jack let the jack drop a little so the knuckle can fall into the jack raise the jack again n let it down a little so it can pop into the control Arm just do that back n forth n until it's in place

Did you have to remove the shock? Or can it be done by just removing the coil?

You dont have to remove the shock

That bolt on lower arm is doing my absolute head in, i managed to get it to go into the hole but the other side where it needs to exit from and be clamped with the nut wont align with the hole. Not sure how to fix it
@HouseOfDeus Жыл бұрын
Are you using a spring compressor or doing it the way this guy did in the video?
@AmaanKhan-cu4qy Жыл бұрын
@@HouseOfDeus I did it the way in the video, was a fucking pain in the ass but I managed to do it in the end. Literally spent like 2h aligning those holes
@AmaanKhan-cu4qy Жыл бұрын
The way to do it is when you get the bolt through the first hole, to keep it as far unscrewed in that hole as possible. Then use a crowbar against the wheel hub to leverage the hole into position
@chuyp118 Жыл бұрын
Yeah it can be a pain but you got it done 👌
@HouseOfDeus Жыл бұрын
@@AmaanKhan-cu4qy can definitely be done but since you done compress spring along with using the Jack to line it up… you are working with a loaded spring pretty much. This video is spot on… I just would go to autozone and rent the tool to compress the spring. Also, I watched it get done with removing the other bolt. Not the one closest to the wheel.and the bushing helps guide the bolt straight thru. Just make marks on the bolt so when you retighten.

I replaced my blown reae shocks. Now i hear like clunking noise for every bump i take. How i know its the coil spring now?

Was it making that noise before replacing? Could also be your sway bar links

Try pushing down on the rear corner of the bumper a couple times to see if u hear that same noise . You might need another person so one can push down n there other can try n look where the noise is coming from

I'd say, they are like the ignition coils; they should be replaced all, at the same time as they're the same age and it's just a matter of time until the other one will go bad
