So if you do quick small little circles while welding and "carry" the puddle it will give better unification between the 2 pieces of metal while also adding more heat. Just be careful not to stay to long in one spot or run back over the weld you just laid down since it will have the possibility of incorporating the slag or flux. Also try to drag the puddle a lil (welding nozzle in front) Kind of hard to explain but hopefully it helps. Loving the vids and learning new things thank you n keep it up bro.

Also if the weld looks like a wet noodle just sitting on top it means you don't have enough heat and the weld is not good. Its all a balancing act between speed, heat, and filler metal rate. But once you find the sweet spots it just comes together. Lol pun intended.

@@dr.borishnakov9632 Thank you mate, those tips are invaluable. I have since started to feel like I'm getting the hang of the welding a bit more, although I'm still very much learning as I go. It's bloody difficult welding as I'm finding out!

Doesn't look bad at all. The more you weld the better you get! The main thing is that they hold. Pretty will come in time.

Cheers! I reckon we'll get lots of chance to practice with this BMW E30 project..

Just had a watch of this to see how you went ahead with it! As you were saying about your welding, it seems you don’t have the hood on the welder! Unless you’re using fluxcore? But you seem to be getting a crazy amount of spatter from the welds which as you probably know is an absolute pain. You can get anti-spatter spray which really helps the bits not stick

It is fluxcore but maybe the hood would help anyway? The spray sounds like a great idea, I'll look that up, cheers mate. 😁 Bear in mind this is my second ever attempt at welding, I've got a lot to learn for sure. 😂

@@SPANNERRASH Just buy a bottle of CO2, it's cheap gas for welding and stop using fluxcore wire. other wise your wire feed and amps are close to good.

@@juholansivuori5025 cheers, I'll have to give gas a try, seems a lot of people say its better.

Hello, can I ask where I can order parts for the axle, or does anyone have a drawing for them please? Good job :)

Cheers Martin, seems the ones I linked in the description are now out of stock, but here is an alternative set which looks just the same: ebay.us/2IE3wX Hope that helps!

What type of welder did you use? the link isn't working anymore. was it just a Flux core Mig welder ?
@SPANNERRASH Жыл бұрын
Hi mate, I think in this video I was using a cheap Wolfweld MIG welder with fluxcore wire. It seemed to work okay but it was tough and had lots of spatter. Check out some of my later videos where I moved on to using a Clarke MIG welder with small gas canister, I get way better results now with that. If you're looking for a start in welding. I'd recommend going for the gas type straight away, that's when it really started to work for me. If you have a skim through this series you'll see me using that other welder and sharing my settings in detail. Hope that helps!
