BMW E30 Touring gets LOWERING SPRINGS and NEW WHEELS

In this episode we are modifying my friend Joni's BMW E30 Touring.
It is the 318i model with a 1.8L 4 cylindre engine. It's colour is called
Daytona violet which is pretty rare for a Touring.
Today we are slapping on some lowering springs and some new wheels.

To remove ball joints and tie rod ends from knuckle arm hit horizontally knuckle arm where ball joint sits. It will pop straight out. Hitting wishbone the way you did it destroys balljoint.

Looks great, Memphis. Just the right amount of lowering, and nice meaty tires set it off lovely. I'm no fan of very low profile tires. A few years back there was a section of Highway 400 here in Ontario where the top layer of paving broke and separated. Every day driving through there I would see modern cars on rubber band tires waiting for recovery. One day I counted 10 of them, some with both tires on the same side coming off the rim. Cars that are lowered too far will also scrape bottom and wreck the car. My old Volvo 240 is at stock height, and it still hits at times, and I have the bent pinch welds to prove it.

Thats a very rare colour for an E30! Well worth giving that car a proper detailed machine polish to bring out the amazing colour. Great videos too! Really enjoy watching your content from here in the UK. Keep up the great work!

Avoid removing ABS sensor from hub as it might brake. It's better to unplug it. Also use lots of grease on spring compressor thread. They won't last long without it.

Previous tires are fine. You need to lower the car by threaded suspension, not the springs.

Love your videos. To get that tie-rod out, all you had to do was smack the side of the spindle with a good ole’ BFH (big fuckin’ hammer) and that thing would have slid out no problem. Love your content. Can’t wait to see more of the E28!

Lower it too much and you can easily rip the bottom out of the car. Also, very low profile tires have a way of coming off the rim and allowing wheel damage on sharp edged pot holes.
