BMW E36 Compact | Competition Spec Drift Build | Bending Rollcage main hoop again.

A minor set back with progress on the BMW E36 Compact build.
I made the first main roll cage hoop a bit to tight, which didnt leave me much room for welding. So I decided to get back on the JD squared tube bender and bend another one, but this time a little less tight.
So progress has been a little slower than I had hoped, but all the learning process.

About a week before I got married I was undoing a bolt with the customer stood next to me talking & the ratchet slipped & hit me across my eye brow.... Luckily it was a small cut & a big bruise which was hardly noticeable in are wedding photos 🙄 the joys of working on car! 😂 Keep at it & you'll get it done bud 👍🏻

Ha ha, basically exactly the same, small cut on eyebrow and then eye went black.. thank you mate I'll keep at it.

What size tube do u use for main hook? And for additional tubes ?

Depends what spec you are building it to.. I am using 1.75 inch (44.5mm) tube 2.5mm wall thick for the full cage..but you can use 38mm for the rest if you wanted. I only have a die for the 1.75 inch tube so that's why I'm making full cage from that..

Those die's are proper expensive one die is as much as hole bender

@@Pcwmotorsport yes indeed. I have 2 at the moment. 1 inch for bash bars and then 1.75 for the cage stuff.. next I will get a 1.5, but as you said they are around the £500 mark..

Its mad tho 😀 u using t45 tubes or cold drawing? And where do u buy tubes from? Seems hard to find a supplier for longer than 1meter tube 😀
