I have had this issue for 1.5 years. Tried multiple mechanics who all told me I need to buy new parts. Didn’t believe them so I’ve started my own digging into the problem and then I found this video. Exactly the same issue, but the break in the wire was higher up as you were expecting. Anyway, many thanks for this video from Johannesburg South Africa 🇿🇦

Never seen the break at that point Sandy, normally further up the Harness .Good Diagnostics and repair ....

2 Heat shrinkable butt splices and a short length of same gauge wire. Would locate to splices to a fixed portion of the harness. Making the repair less failure prone due to movement. Approach to consider next time Sandy. Nice job sniffing out the break point. Cheers Pal

Hey Sandy, my lock is jammed and won´t open even with the key and there is no emergency latch in my junk car. Is there a way to get into that trunk?

I fix the wires in my button and still doesn’t work what do you think the problem would be is there a fuse? I just seen the area where it’s broken on your video I’ll check that other area where it moves thank you from USA!

I fixed my wires but my trunk still wont open with the key fob, is it possible i have a bad fuse?
