I had one of these before someone totaled it, miss that thing so much... It was taken care of so well since it was bought. got it to 140mph on the highway and it felt smoother then ever. Will get another one of these days.

Lol yep. That's why I ordered the solenoids, sealing sleeves, adapter plug, transmission pan/filter, and ZF Lifeguard 6 ATF. Mine jerks from 3 - 4, 5 - 6, and 2 -1. 5-6 is the worst because if you give it half throttle it'll jerk real bad and fail to shift into 6th gear...

@@moayed7510 Yeah and the one in the video shifts at 5800rpm. I have an E60 530i N52, it always revs to 6500rpm if i floor it, never shifts earlier. Also, i never had a gearbox failure like in this video xd

+40HP is a thing and there is another gearbox as I aware, N52 is a better engine for 5 series, n54b30 is great for e46

So quiet !! I have a 6-speed manual 530i. Owned it for 12 years now and have put 115k miles / 185k kms on it. I've also driven through Germany in it a few times too (and France, Austria & Italy).

@@royjaber571 Amazingly so. It hasn't been without its problem but given that I've owned it for over 12 years now and done over 115k miles / 185k kms in it it's been very good. Of course brakes, suspension bits wear out but it's on the same clutch and exhaust as it had in 2011. Oddly, I wasn't happy with the steering when I got it, so it's had a new rack & column joints. New inlet tract valve things. New thermostat. The M54 engine is very reliable.

@@eriksigge4059 It did, although it was a long time ago now that I got it done. I had driven it from the Midlands down to Exeter before and was really disappointed with the steering. When parked up, there seemed to be a perceptible play/slack/looseness in the steering column or rack. Very much better now but still a long way off MX5 levels of steering feedback ! I don't think that BMWs are all that with regards to steering feel; they're usually adequate

@@lewis72So is the N52 which replaced the M54 in 2006. I have an 07 530i and may get this 05 one out in California that is just sitting on its dealer lot for years. That one has Logic 7 unlike mine and would be fun to compare engines (I did have an 01 E39 525i once upon a time but this would be E60 to E60!). I’m shocked nobody has bought it in 2 years with the price dropped to damn near $4.5k for a 120k mile example. A broken sunroof and some faded clearcoat on the roof is not a deal breaker at that price (my 07 is a flawless example with everything working, got it for $8k).

I drive the same car with same engine and for sure the one in this movie have some Major issue! It should pull hard to 235-40 and then slowly to 260. My personal recond is 257-8 and the car has a little bit more to go up.. It like watching 523 or maximum 525 preface model..

Das ZF 6HP 19/26 Getriebe hat im DSport Modus nur 5 Gänge und dreht halt dann in den Begrenzer und nur im normalen Drive Modus hat er 6 Gänge. Hab selbst einen, einfach mal informieren bevor man über die Getriebe von Bmw/ZF schimpft. Außerdem rutscht die Kupplung bei dem hier, wie bei 2:05 zusehen ist. Ich denke mal das der wenigstens schon 250k weg hat und eventuell noch keine Getriebeöl wechsel gemacht wurde.

My US model 2006 530xi has 255hp (n52b30) 7000rpm shift points. I know its fast on top speed, and oh so smooth 155 mph maybe ? I think its the Aerodynamics of the 5 series.

Should have warmed up the car, the valves need lubrication and the rest needs perfect temp to be able to rev at max speed, takes time to propagate everywhere, you floored it too fast.

Ja du sagst es. Der hat keine Power und der M54B30 hat normalerweise immer Leistung,dafür ist das Triebwerk ja auch bekannt. Ich hatte einen E46 330i mit dem M54B30 und der hatte bei weitem mehr Leistung. 231ps und lief extrem gut. Kommt Natürlich auch auf Wartung und Pflege an.

Also mein 530i 231ps Schalter und mit 95 Oktan fährt 270 wenn die Bedingungen stimmen. Ich würde mal behaupten das dein Motor nicht die volle Leistung hat. Mal abgesehen davon das dein Automatikgetriebe dir ein bisschen Leistung klaut und darüber hinaus auch Ultra schlecht schaltet.

manuals simply suck and are extremely slow, not talking about how uncomfortable they are. no offense, but imo only people who live with their mind in 1800 think they're better (except if you are talking about some kind of racing competition like drifting etc). the car in the video is WAY FASTER than this, the issue here is it has a problem with the transmission, and a lot of mileage on it, so that's why he's not even going full throttle
