Great videos...just picked up a pretty similar N55 135i/DCT a couple months ago with 74K miles as a fun little project car. Already done engine/trans mounts, added a catch can, and MHD tuner. Contemplated a Speedtech bottom mount kit but as a brand new BMW guy it's kinda hard to figure the upper limits of the N55, so I think I'll just stay safe and throw on a bigger hybrid turbo like a Pure or Shuenk and shoot for a somewhat reliable 500whp. I've started to get the feeling already that it may not be wise to pour a ton of money into an N55 based car and instead just top it out around 500whp and be happy with what you got and have a fun little daily driver. But yeah, your videos are solid gold for BMW newbs like me. Keep them coming.

@keenshot3482 For a self-claimed newb, you sure sound like a pro and have done the right things man. Congrats on the 135i and hope you come back for more helpful videos of the car.

@@drivewrenchrepeat yeah took me awhile to come around on Bimmers but the one thing I've learned so far is if you can wrench on one of these, you can wrench on anything. Been a fun learning experience coming from Hemis and LS's 🤣

I have 2008 bmw 135i n54 engine fully stuck got it with 137k miles for $3800 very beautiful car and has a lotta speed I reach 140mph the another day xD behind me was a challenger idk if it was an R/T or hellcat but I can tell it was a v8 5.7 hemi xD but damn the 135i is extremely fast!! I will go with the dinan tuning :) no mods required for the stage 2 so I will go for it :)

It's safer to charge the battery first, then run the procedure without any charger connected to eliminate the risk of shorting something out. I've never had my battery go dead from running the bleed procedure or making software changes. But all my interior lights are LED & I have no iDrive or sunroof, everythings manual so probably less power drain than most cars.

The charger I use in Germany has what's called TÜV approval & it does not overcharge. I put it on winter mode then it will say full when voltage limit is reached.

what is the best procedure to disconnect the battery on a 2011 135i idont know if i have to when changing the OFHG thank you
@DigitalDissident
@DigitalDissident 7 ай бұрын
Just remove the negative terminal in the trunk. If you do the OFHG, look for a silicone gasket instead of the oem rubber. You can also upgrade the thermostat to a Mosselmann.

I currently have the same issue with my car. Did you leave the car battery unplugged the whole time while the frm module was getting repaired? Or did you plug the battery back in case you needed to move the car?

@matthewgomez4551 we kept the battery unplugged the whole time
