Heated seats retrofit video guide for BMW E90/91/92.
In this video I am installing heating mats (taken out from other seats) to E92 Sport leather seats (with memory function).

dear friend. I found a pair of front seats just like mine but these ones are heated. Do you know if the swap is simply change the switch console on the dash or requieres more things to do? thanks

I have to remove my seat bottom because it has 1 crack in the leather and want to replace that part (stitch a good part from a donor seat). Do I have to cut those metal rings which hold the seat bottom leather?

Hello thank you for making this video, I have just got a E90 2007 325d. With black cloth seats, I am planning to swap them to leather seats with heat. I saw in your video at 10:08 that you put 2 more connecters into the seat module, so my question is, are the connecters in the cars wiring or do i need to make them?

Those are heating mat connectors, they come attached to the mats.

You need new seat modules which came from heated seats. If you take a look on a module from non-heated seats you will see that no pins are coming out from the module for heating mats. These modules have some extra functionalities inside which controls heating. If your seats were not heated earlier then your modules will not have these functions. Take a look part of video at 09:50.

Can the bottom cushions be swapped between passenger side and driver side?

Hello, theoretically it is possible, but there are some differences: at 1:01 and 2:07 there are leather fixing straps which are different on both sides, but this is almost no problem. Biggest problem is that passenger seat has occupancy sensor installed in cushion, and driver side does not have. Sensor is installed in the foam 4:38 . So basically if you put passenger side cushion to driver side, then it is ok, but if you put driver cushion to passenger side, then you will be missing occupancy sensor and you will have airbag light ON.

Hello, is the seat heating in e90 a separate part - i have heated seats with beat up leather and only want to use leather from non-heated seats to swap over mine - would this work?

Borislav Dimitrov Hello, I think heating elements are sewed together with lether. You will need to break apart old lether to remove heating elements (same as I did on this video).

@ It's in the foam, not the leather.

@@mraaaaaaa There are two types. In my case heating mats were suwed together with the leather, so I had to separate them from leather fist, it is not in the video, but there is one photo where all separated heating mats are laying on the ground after separation. Also that is why I used lots of tie wraps to fix them on my brown leather.
