Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course, but I really think it looks at least a little better than the stock version, which just looks like a brushed up silver fat stick. As you say in your video i completely agree that it really works nice with the interior on your E90 model. Yes, you could argue that the whole shifting process is still mechanical after all, but the shift knob from the Fxx models just look so elegant therefore it is a small compromise to make your Exx model interior look so much more nicer (in my own humble opinion). I so would have needed your video 4 years ago when I had an E39 model wishing so badly to change the knob searching unsucessfully for any video or written instructions on how to do it. Thank you anyway for your video. It was short and yet quite detailed and informative. Greetings from Austria.

Lukas Gröndahl and here we have the “its not OEM from factory so its lame” type of person. If you had a little clue about bmws, you would know that the LCI shifter or next gen shifter knob wasnt even designed or thought of when this car was specced. Modernising or modifying a car to their own liking is okay. And its not trying to make the gearbox look like the newer gens. Cause again people who know the inner workings and general parts for bmws know that this is just a gear knob. If we were talking about an M3 badge on a 316i then yeah thats lame. But changing up the parts you interface with in the car is good mods and make the car comfortable for the individual doing it. You have a lot to learn it seems

This is super cool man. Like others mentioned it sucks the old gear indicators are still on the side, but you could wrap the whole center piece in carbon fiber or alcantara.

I was expecting it to operate like the cars that shifter Came in from the factory. It always returns to the center position basically except m/s mode. I have that shifter in my E60 and it always returns to the middle and the button on top puts it in park

I think you should make a small vinyl cut out to cover the original P R N D symbols on the trim. Cause it looks odd they're just staring at you but not working. Or you can also splice the wires so you can get signal to them as well. But covering them would be easier.

Not a big fan of this myself, if the original knob is peeling it's easy enough to repaint it yourself. My steering wheel was peeling so I stripped all of the old paint off it and repainted it satin black, it looks like a factory finish.

Evan Bush the P turns off once vehicle goes into sleep mode. This is a stock feature it’s just not as noticeable with the stock plate. Completely normal.

i recently lost my manual mode on my 06 330i and even rewired the original gear shifter assembly still haven’t got my manual mode back and now the little orange light doesn’t show up for anything other than when it’s in park or sport mode. do u think if i use this gear shifter with the wiring it will fix my problem ?
