As I understand it, the power comes without any conversion units, is it powered from a standard connector? Is the brightness adjustable with a wheel? How does the backlight work in general?

Do you know if this is the same process for a 2012 535D F10 with the 3 pin connectors (on the car side wiring) and would they need any coding still, Mine has dim red ambient lights already in the doors. These light strips do look the best I've seen with the most even spread of light.

Put a resistor inline with the leds. Size of the resistors can be calculated with ohms law V=I*R, V being volts, I current or Amps and R resistance.
