completely agree “the transmission is not trying to catch up”
@NoClutchGarage5 жыл бұрын
*UPDATE: After posting the video I got a lot of questions related to xDelete. So let me clear things up. xHP is a transmission tune that affects the DEC and gearshift logic only. It does not affect the transfer case in xDrive models. xDelete is a program that de-couples the front differential electronically to enable total RWD on xDrive cars. This only affects the front differential and transfer case and thus doesn’t interfere with xHP Flashtool Transmission Tune. As a result, you are able to use both softwares simultaneously to have RWD and faster shifts on an xDrive vehicle. However, xHP Flashtool transmission tune is $350 for the Super 8 license (I believe this is currently the only option) and xDelete is $150. They are SEPARATE SOFTWARES. I hope this clears some things up. I will be doing a video on xDelete once I buy it and install it... cheers!

Thank you so much for sharing this! It’s really helpful. I’m wondering what’s the big difference between stage 2 and stage 3. From what I understand is that stage2 is more comfort and deliver the power smooth but with stage3 the car has heaps “pushing power” or the “pushing feeling”. It could feels more pushing power than stage2 TCU. Am I correct about the understanding of stage3 TCU? Many thanks.
@NoClutchGarage4 жыл бұрын
Stage 2 is definitely more comfort oriented. Stage 3 pushes everything to the limit to give the best performance possible.

NoClutch Garage Thanks for your reply! I own a x3m40i. It has same engine as yours. I have tuned it to 460hp/610torque(Dyno result) with stage2 TCU. I have driven the car for 4months but I really don’t feel good power from it even it has heaps power on the Dyno. What I mean about don’t feel good power is I don’t feel enough pushing power from it. I think even a stock m4 (less power than mine) has more pushing power than my car. So I’m wondering would the stage 3 helps to improve it? Thanks again bud

@ZachSakar4 ай бұрын
@@moescolla Year later but this still may help. JB4 is a piggyback tune. Instead of reflashing a map onto the car, it changes values before it reaches the ECU, effectively 'spoofing' numbers before the information is given to the car. This can create problems in the future. I just recommend switching to MHD or BM3 to give the car a full new map. I'm guessing you got the JB4 instead for warranty reasons, but you can remove your flash inside of the MHD app and mechanics won't be able to tell it's been previously tuned. Hope this helps.

@NoClutchGarage4 жыл бұрын
An important distinction to make is that xHP is a transmission (TCU) tuning software and BM3 is an engine (DME) tuning software. BM3 offers a transmission tune as well but xHP is leagues better.
@seollenda4 жыл бұрын
NoClutch Garage Would you recommend using both or going with a TCU tune over a DME?

They serve different purposes. A DME tune will increase power and torque, a TCU tune will allow your transmission to transfer that torque to the wheels by lifting torque limits.

NoClutch Garage Wow! Thank you for clearing things up, this is some valuable info right here. People should really know that xHP is not as smooth as people think. In fact, I'll just straight go ahead and say it, it isn't. It feels like it's gonna destroy your tranny and engine from how bad it can be, specially on upgraded turbos. It takes some tweeking to getting it to be not as bad, but stock feels a lot smoother. Just ask yourself, do you even really need it, for other than raising the torque limiter? The stock tune is already really fast, and making it just a tad faster, isn't gonna win you any races
@NoClutchGarage3 жыл бұрын
Well xHP does a few things: It raises line pressure which allows for higher torque limits. On stage 3 which is what I run, it actually keeps the clutches fully engaged at the time of shifting which actually reduces slip and is inherently better for your transmission, which also translates to quicker shift times. It also allows for full customization of pre-determined shift points for a more accurate shift to take advantage of the power band. You’re 100% correct in saying the OEM trans software is smoother... for a stock car or even an OTS car. But past OTS it is almost necessary in order to get around torque limiters. If you don’t like the harshness then stage 1 is probably better suited for you. However for those of us that race our cars stage 3 makes the most sense.

The faster the gear changes, the less the gearbox durability
