HOW TO FLASH XHP TRANSMISSION TUNE/DRIVING REVIEW - BMW F30 B58

How do you make your B58 even quicker? An ECU tune obviously, but paired with XHP transmission flash it’s another animal!! In this video I go over how to flash XHP along with a full driving review. It surprised me and flashed very quickly, and I think that’s because I had my laptop directly connected with strong wifi (phone hotspot). @@arthatis I don’t have any custom ones setup yet. Just the stock XHP, but I shift manually usually at 6200.

I have xhp stage 3 on my 340 and I’ve customized my shifting in regular d mode to be relaxed + and in sport to be sportive +. Gives me very good daily drive ability in comfort and super responsive in sport +. Try it out! Customized settings is best for you imo

True true, did you find out your customized settings through trial and error? I just feel that stage 2 is already perfect for this; daily driving comfortability, aggressive shifting in sport, and most aggressive in sport+. The shifts feel great and plenty fast for just having to flash once. I’ll do more research though! Thanks!

@@skrrtproductions I did through trial and error, but only 2-3 times I had to adjust settings. Everything is pretty explanatory. I feel like for your bm3 tune you need to pair it with stage 3. You’re definitely missing out ;)

Sportive + is a little too aggressive in my opinion, I went back to the OTS shift points on a Stage 3 340i

Yeah I’d do the same. That’s why I went with stage 2. Seems to be in the middle ground and still shifts very hard and quick in sport+

Never measured it but it definitely does. Nothing major but faster shifting equals faster times for sure. Shifts are instant on stage 3

Only issue I have with XHP is that I feel the driving dynamics were altered too much. I want the faster shifts at all times but the OEM shift points, should I just go to stage 2?

Yeah I went from stage 2 to stage 3 and back to stage 2 lol. Stage 2 is best for daily

Doesn’t affect fuel consumption directly. Only with me wanting to drive in sport+ more often lol. I’m still averaging around 19mpg and this is with an upgraded fuel pump

I have a 2018 330i bootmod3 stage 1 93 Octane. With the tune on and I’m cruising just lightly pressing the gas it has a vibration feel like it’s in too high of a gear and needs more power. Do you think stage 2 xhp will fix that?

It helps but doesn’t necessarily fix it. You just have to be very light on the throttle. Or you can downshift before you give it gas or just drive in sport +

Yeah XHP will slightly alter the shift points in their base maps. Even on stage 3 comfort mode is still comfortable lol

Haha. Basically you’re letting the computer adapt to the new settings as that’s how the car functions. While the computer is re-learning after it’s been reset, and changed, it’s just best to take it easy until it adapts which happens after 50miles of driving or so

Would you say xhp is dangerous for transmission?

I wouldn’t say it’s dangerous, the transmission can handle it and they’ve done a ton of testing/R&D. However, as with anything, once you’ve gone past limits from the factory there will definitely be more wear and tear, but I wouldn’t say it’s that bad. That’s why I’m running stage 2 and not stage 3. The only measure I’ll be taking is having the trans fluid changed at around 40-50k miles instead of 60-70k that’s recommended by the transmission manufacturer
