I had Ronald design a custom shifter for my E30. Whenever anyone rows through the gears they are just shocked. He makes an incredible product.

I’ve said this is becoming one of my fav’s F80’s out there in the past but its officially my fav F80 out there now. Everything on the car is simply the best of the best. Can’t wait to buy my own F80 and come back here for the perfect guide.

I highly recommend doing the powerflex diff bushings and bracket. Enhanced the driving experience by a ton. Rear end feels so tight and planted and it stiffened up the car and the shifting quite a bit. In my opinion it’s a must do. Doing my ssk when it arrives super excited!

When i had my 2013 mustang gt, getting a new shifter was the best upgrade. After researching all the options inwent with MGW. When i went to their page, it turned out they were located in my town! Also found out if you brought your car there, they would do the install for free. Had to wait 3 months for an appointment but had the owner/designer of the kit properly install everything. What a great experience with both the company and the add driving engagement. Miss shifting but knee pain got me to really appreciate driving auto.

I got one on my F80 as well in 2022 and love it. The install wasn't too bad if you don't mind working without view of what you're working on.

I have the turner rear bushing and I have to say that it should've came like that stock. I been wanting an AS shifter since I had my 6mt 340 as the stock shifter felt like a toy. May just have to do it now that I have an F80, and coupled with the Turner diff plate and ECS diff bushings I believe it can't get any rawer than that in a modern car. Excellent video

You will love it. I can’t believe how good the car feels now. It honestly feels like a proper m car whereas before it felt like a fast luxury car. It’s raw, satisfying, and incredible. Easily my favorite mod I’ve done thus far.

You should review the CAE Ultrashift for your car. I've got one on my F80 M3 and my WRX. It's not a short throw, but a German company that specializes in motorsports shift kits. You'll never go back to anything else.

I looked into it and know about them. Wanted to keep it as OEM as possible for this car as it sees the street 99.9% of the time.

@@Autofreakgarage That makes sense. The BMW version definitely looks less out of place than the WRX, in regard to height and they do add a fair amount of noise into the cabin, even with the "street" version.

Coming from cobb SSK on my STi to the F80, the f80 left a lot on the table in terms of clutch and shifter feel. E46, e90, F8x, all feel terrible for being the "ultimate drivers car"

Get this shift kit and you will forget what the STI shifter felt like immediately. I ran the kartboy on my STI and it was one of the better feeling shifters I’ve ever experienced. But this far surpasses it. Paired with the ucp clutch pedal, it’s a fantastic experience.

Does this help first gear engagement? On my M2C, 1st sometimes only half engages for me, and I have to clutch out and retry. Not sure if you've ever had this issue or if this helps at all, but I heard it might.

It helps for sure, but I would do the cdv delete to help with engagement.

Appreciate the details with all the content. I did have a question looking into one of these for my G80. Since you have had the chance to drive both F & G chassis, do you think there is a major difference in manuals? I know they are both the same box but with different tuning.

They both feel pretty similar. The g80 felt a bit better stock for stock. The g80 clutch felt a bit lighter and easier to drive overall, but they are pretty close.

Ronald did get back to me about everything with my G80, he let me know his experience with the G80 only comes from his shifter test not stock, so only feedback will be from the f8x platform and his experience. I am thinking of going forward with everything, did you have any feedback, sorry for all the questions.

@keiyonnash5695 go with it. It’ll be a huge improvement. It’s easily my favorite medication I’ve done to the car. It’s incredible. No worries! Glad to help.

Is the extra NVH in every gear or at a specific rpm? I installed this ssk on my M2C a couple months ago with the 90A bushings. It’s awesome but getting a buzzing/rattling sound that starts around 3k rpm in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears. Not sure if it’s normal or not, but kind of annoying.

It’s pretty much at all times. All the extra noises you hear are the fly wheel, synchros, and parts moving around.
