It looks really nice. I Prefer original exhaust on my bike. Then I don’t have to worry about if it’s legal or if will get stopped by the police. My wife has aftermarket on her Yamaha, and we have to put in “steel wool” and dB-killers for the yearly inspection and hope that they will accept it. I like the sound and the look better than the original but I don’t think I adds enough of value to be worth the problem.

Yeah true, think I'd be happy with a quite, light weight pipe... Not sure if that's even possible !

Probably they have to meet up with a lot of regulations so there’s not a lot that’s possible to change as long as you meet those requirements. There’s of course one more thing in the equation. the costs. the engineers on BMW have to make it as cost effective as possible and meet up to the requirements. The aftermarket part doesn’t need to be so inexpensive to build. Even if the price on original parts are higher for you and me, they are probably cheaper to build than the aftermarket parts.
