So with all of these cooling parts, how does the engine fit under the hood?
@DigitalDissident4 ай бұрын
Single best upgrade for my turbo six cylinder was the moseelman thermostat. that alone will reduce running oil temps by 20C. I already have 1 factory external oil cooler. I see people adding dual coolers & radiators when they could just upgrade the thermostat & change their radiator fan speed to sport so it kicks on earlier.

what is ideal oil temps in hot weather for daily normal driving?
@matthewnicholas63653 ай бұрын
It takes ages for the oil to get up to temp for daily driving. It noticeably drops in sport mode too. Cold oil is bad for the engine, possibly as bad as hot oil
@DigitalDissident3 ай бұрын
@@matthewnicholas6365 There is no difference in the time it takes for the oil to reach operating temperature. You're maybe thinking big a mod where you leave it open all times, I'm referring to an upgrade where the thermostat opens sooner than stock.

10:18: The actual heat exchangers are not side specific. It's the plastic housing that is side specific. If you have a busted heat exchanger, you can buy either one and then just pop it out of the housing, flip it over, and use it just fine.

Revolutionary stock cooling system after previous gen BMWs. Confirmed and tested lap after lap at the Nurburgring. E46, E92 had issues, nowadays most Japanese sport cars brand new still struggle (aside of Supra, which has B58).

Thanks Gareth, I'm not a fan of these multiple cooling circuits and it's partly why I've been staying away from the B-series engine in general. On an aside didn't BMW have a recall on a run of S55 intercoolers?

guess what, those low temp circuit caps are also used in the i3 too

Can we do this for a W205 C63s?
@chrispbacon17944 ай бұрын
Hi, do you recommend a coolant change frequency for either the charge cooler or the engine coolant at all? Apparently BMW do no routinely change the coolant on either system in these cars during services…

EXACTLY! OEM TMIC are much better than most aftermarkets TMIC, dont change OEM TMIC if your not upgrading turbo or if your car is more than 70,000 km...

Ironic comment. I was training for a half marathon earlier in the year (was almost sub 2 hours) but spinal stenosis/sciatica decided to enter my life in early May. You can see I'm not standing straight. Let me tell you how difficult it is to stand for long periods of time with one strong leg and the other leg radiating nerve pain the entire time. It in fact takes your breath away and I wish it on no one.
