I’m a truck driver looking to get a G310 as my very first bike. Anyway, when you said it doesn’t have a lot of passing power, and the locked it in fifth, I suddenly realized how fast most bikes must be, because, compared to a Peterbilt, that Beamer flew! 😂

If you have not yet, don't get this bike, you will quickly outgrow it as you become a better rider and will probably wish for something a little better within the first 6 months. Rather try for an sv650 or a bit more sporty 2 or even 4 cylinder small bike like mt-03 or 400 ninja, ninja RR (4 cylinder up to 75 hp with a computer update if you in the us) etc.

To help get better stability on the front I suggest you add some preload to the rear shock. This will put more weight on the front.

I have no issues with riding it on the highway here in NC. I ride 60 miles round trip on the highway to work and with a good windscreen, it handles fine. I just did a 1000k mile round trip where I drove 250 miles to the Smokey Mtn 500 trails starting point, finished that ride of 500 miles over 2 days, then drove the highway 250 miles back. I changed out the handle bars and did a couple of things to reduce vibrations including adding weights on the bars. Bar risers are a must on this bike especially if you do stretches on the highway. Its definitely not designed for long highway use but it can easily get you to your trails and back home without having to haul the bike which is what I bought it for.

What kind of handle bars did you install?

Appreciate the video! Your roads have significantly fewer semi-trucks compared to Florida's highways. I've been riding the 2023 BMW G310 GS for the past 11 months, and it's an excellent choice for city commuting, backcountry roads, both paved and unpaved, and even light trails. Switching from a Harley, I'm not a huge fan of the 310 on the interstate, not because it can't maintain 70 mph, but due to how this lightweight motorcycle gets tossed around by strong winds from passing trucks.

Yeah, I agree. The weight of this bike is both a downside and a highlight.

Hi from the UK - I have the 17 tooth front sprocket fitted & has made a real difference to the bike all round. I found first gear was ridiculously low & it's knocked 500 RPM off in top gear but can still pull it ok. It's a windy day today & was still pulling well at 75 - 80MPH without being wide open. Small engines can take high revs all day but it sounds like you're being unkind to it after getting off my TDM 900. 👍

I'm 6'4" and 260 lbs. I probably won't take mine on the freeway but that's not what I bought it for. It's a trail bike for me to go up in the hills. When i want fast freeway rides i take my k1200R. Fun bike though!

In The Netherlands highway speed is 60 mph, you can ride it all day! Also another sprocket at front, 15 instead of 14 teeth will bring more comfort and less fuel consumption. For longer rides another [more comfortable] saddle is an idea.

I can't imagine going back to a small 1 cylinder for anything but city commuting or offroading, being used to 100hp+ it would drive me mad on the highways!

Wouldn't complain about a 400cc upgrade. Did not notice any type of wobble on long interstate ride with crosswinds. I do not like single as much multi cylinders for highway use. It is surprisingly good overall though.

Ridden this same bike quite a bit and I found it was amazingly fun up to about 55, over 55 it gets very buzzy and the vibrations are annoying to me. Others may have a different opinion or have addressed it. Also found it's a bit small framed for folks over 5'11", but that may just be my specific frame and preference.

I notice a great gap between this, and BMW's big boy adventure bikes. You jump from this straight to f800gs with it's 900cc nearly 90hp motor and there's just nothing in-between. BMW are so well known for their ADVs that I feel like somebody in their marketing department not doing their job. Can you just imagine how many of these they could sell if they gave it an ever so slightly larger motor? Maybe a 400-500cc thumper, or even a twin. Just so someone who likes the design language of BMW's adventure bikes could stay "with the brand" if they so choose. And progress from more beginner friendly to something slightly larger and more affordable than going straight into serious big motor adventure bikes, which honestly are a handful to control in the dirt. I think this is where Kawasaki KLR650 sits, and why it is a definitive adventure bike for many. It's just a great sweet spot in terms of power.

Thank you ... I just bought one and I have not taken it on the freeway here in Arizona where the speed limit is 75 ... I think I will keep it at 70 or below, but I am really glad to know it is capable ... what about saddlebags? It seems that all the bags I have looked at are a little too close to the exhaust ... any recommendations?

Was thinking of getting this, bit scared and skeptical now since you said it can wobble very easily whenever it hits something slightly, something similar like speed wobbles. Is this common to happen, and if so should I still get this bike or no.

Yes! it’s still a great bike. Sense this video I have made a second one about freeway riding with this bike. It’s does it good but just keep in mind it’s light bike so it is more prone to movement at higher speeds

KTMs generally have the roomiest cockpits given your size and weight I would look at midsize and up not small displacement Adventure bikes. By the time you add luggage and that you'll be pushing A lot of air out of the way and carrying more weight than most of them are designed for. Also the suspensions will wind up being way too soft

Whats the top speed?
@advbrain9967
@advbrain9967 Жыл бұрын
The bike’s top speed is about 85MPH but that’s a somewhat scary speed on that bike because of its size. I usually only go about 70-75 and that’s a pretty comfortable speed for me anyways
@tomatosofficial1124
@tomatosofficial1124 Жыл бұрын
@@advbrain9967 Yeah seems a but overpriced for what you get. Its $6k in my local dealer. I purchased a BMW F900R and the top speed is 147mph (my personal best). Was debating on down grading to this, but financially it wouldn’t make sense.
@advbrain9967
@advbrain9967 Жыл бұрын
Yeah. if you like to go fast, then this is definitely not the bike for you haha it’s only got 34hp. No where near the f900 but that is is a nice bike have you looked into the CFMOTO 450s ? Or maybe a used Ducati monster if you want to stick with the upright seating position of a naked bike.

You had the worst review dude haha. I think you don’t like bmws or don’t like small bikes. Because I’m 6’2 190 and I fit like a glove and have put 19000 miles on mine. Long rides, commuting, off road. Never had a problem passing. Never had a power problem in the Colorado Rocky Mountains it does amazing. Leave the small bike reviews to the people who are unbiased.
