My car supposedly didn't have carplay from factory. I hate BMW Mini for lying and hiding this!!!!!!!

Finally! I was so upset that this wasn’t offered as a normal update of the software so will check this out. Have an f54 clubman from 2017 just before the factory apple CarPlay opt-in

I'm buying a 2016 Clubman with the 609 Nav system, with widescreen and touchscreen like in this video. Shouldi be able to unhide Carplay also? The car is delivered in 10 days from now.

Worked GREAT--thank you! Only difference I found in my Countryman is instead of hitting volume button for idrive reboots, simply turn off the car and wait for the 20 min; then restart and there's your reboot :) Had to wait at least 20 min in between each reboot but after the 3rd time--it definitely was a charm--I now have Apple Car Play via Bluetooth :)

Hi. What year is your countryman? Is it the f60? Did you install a wifi antenna in order for the carplay to connect to your phone?

@@MsPao1106 My countryman is a 2017 and no I didn't have to install anything else for carplay to work except update that software and reboot several times. Also, if you've already connected your phone via bluetooth, you'll have to totally delete it and start over to set up bluetooth again and choose the carplay option. I will say it did modify my original navigation that used to show turns on my headsup display no longer does that--seems navigation is only via carplay now.

Hello, I just bought the file from bimmer and they sent me a video explaining with a BMW demo, and they say that for MINIS, steps 02 and 04 I should "Lock a car by keyfob 20 minute" ... I don t know what that means, can you help me please?

Zé Alalou you just get out of your car and leave. You lock your car and go drink coffee or thee. The car shuts down after about 20 minutes by itself 😉. Is this clear for you? If i remember correct you do that 2 times. So after 20 minutes you unlock your car again wait 1 minute so your idrive system wakes up again and then you lock your car again. After that it should work. Enjoy

Only with Wifi AND Bluetooth. So your headunit needs to have WiFi antenna also.

My car had CarPlay without navigation. F56 11/2018. Somehow CarPlay stopped working last week. BMW is telling the exact thing. But yes, it’s possible. I understand their side, with CarPlay you will not use navigation because CarPlay do it. Any development in your case ?

You're lucky, I've got the same car - 2018 Countryman Hybrid - but only the 6.5 inch screen. Your linked vendor says carplay won't work without the 609 professional nav. That's ridiculous in a car this price.

UPDATE: mail from my dealer: "BMW Switzerland intends to launch the MINI Connected website in a month's time. In this you can book certain options such as RTTI or Apple CarPlay. As if you had ordered them. The purchases will not be possible until the beginning of 2019. So we have to be patient for a while, but the possibility comes soon."

That would be awesome ! I have just received my MINI One, which also has 6.5 screen, and just like you all sellers told me it wouldn't work without 609. If you can, may you please ask your dealer if this option of buying CarPlay will be available worldwide ? I'm currently living in Belgium. To be honest I don't care about pricing, I just want CarPlay available effortlessly (i.e no hardware changes). Thanks ! :)

john reid yup you have to upgrade when buying to harman kardon. Otherwise an audio specialist can upgrade also. I did that with an older one with a gladen system

Yah This video is so poor quality. Mostly you are crying about car play didn't come with your car. You should have checked it before buying. This video seems your way of giving went to your tears.
