Nice to see you updating your experience with the i3 again. I'm biased, as I'm driving an 42 kWh i3 for 4 years now and I wouldn't want to drive anything else. And yes, some of its quirks are irritating but overall, I think it's the best car I've ever owned or driven long time.

I share the same sentiment here even with my 60Ah one I own. From time to time I see posts on i3 groups from people saying they want to replace them with sth else that is available on the market and still they see nothing to go for at the moment. Even m3/y isn't an option here. My dream has always been a tesla, but since purchasing i3 I am puzzled as much as they are as to what my next ride will be. Merry Christmas

Fully agree with you, i3 is a very special car. BMW had a group of engineers thinking open-minded about modern city transportation - and I believe that's quite an achievement! Our i3 42kWh in the family is also a keeper! 👍 There's no other car on the market to replace it...

I usually drive a iX3 which is the best car I ever owned, but I have a i3 too :) It's a fun car to drive. I use that for training my daugther which is taking the licence now. Never any issues with it. She will get it when she gets her license.

No issues with 12 V battery on the i3?

Bjorn. That’s the poor man’s i3 You need to test the fully charged version with the bigger screen. Then you can see consumption and everything together. Also a tip. If you’re using google maps on your smartphone, you can just share the destination to the car.😊

I don't have app support.

Can you do a degradation test on the e-golf with the 35,8kWh battery? Different NMC cell chemistry & producer than the small one (Sanyo/Panasonic vs Samsung SDI). Lot of tests with the small one already, but havent seen any with the 35,8kWh. There's a spec sheet that claims it could do 6000 cycles if handled with much care (theoretically cycling from 70-20%).

I finally researched it, USA started Circle-K like 1951, bankruptcy declared 1990, many owners, but now Canadian owned. Our Circle-K have very few and FAR between DC chargers, and no trailer rentals.

@11:50 At least i3 has the option to show battery percentage. Something the eGolf do not :P
@bjornnyland10 ай бұрын
True
@StormKleist10 ай бұрын
Actually possible to see the percentage in the app.
@Gazer7510 ай бұрын
@@StormKleist For now... Once the 2G grid eventually shuts down to free up more frequencies, app support for eGolf is gone. In Norway that is expected to happen in 2025 apparently. From what I understand VW have no plans to offer a 4G upgrade for the older cars. The app is also slow to synchronize due to the lack of 3G here.

I would take the 35kwh e-golf over a 42kwh i3 reason being my work mate had one which can affectionately be called a massive lemon, in 2 years of ownership, the heater broke twice, the charger failed , the motor died twice both times needing a new replacement, the suicide passenger latch failed preventing the passenger door from locking, 2months were left on the warranty and the pack failed, in total 14k of parts in 2 years He had enough, now drives a Nissan quashqui e-power so far 4 months ownership, just window washer, sure the fuel is a downer but it has passed the hassle free drive
