No worries! I was gutted actually I missed a BMW event recently as I was on holiday. But no I cover whatever on KZbin! To date I’ve covered brands like Mercedes, BMW, VW, Home Charging, Tesla and more coming soon. I’ve hoping to get some tips and tricks under my belt over the coming months for BMW too… 🤓 but it will take time 🕰️ What was your reason for a switch (just curious if you don’t mind sharing)

Don’t get me wrong - I love the EQE350+. But the car had low ground clearance due to the long wheel base. As a result, the bottom of the car kept hitting huge humps. In addition, when transitioning from steep ramps to the flat bit, the bottom of the car would scrape the floor. I made the decision to change so that i would not be faced with a huge repair bill if there was damage to the chassis or battery caused by the impact by the hump/floor. As I have owned 10 Mercs before and the EQE350+ was the best of the lot….. draw your own conclusions.😊

Its a shame youre not able to test like for like. I have the 2024 i4 M50, with idrive 8.5 and the same crystal switches and dials as the i5. It also has the adaptive air suspension that is on the i5. Also getting dragy 0-60 times of 2.9 seconds. BMW are starting to excel in EVs. A lot of experience over the last decade.

Thank you! Only had a short time with them so far so very hard to tell! Will need to have it for a bit more to tell but they are very close! Each one in terms of tech available has its pros and cons. In an ideal world I’d love to do a comparison video!

My problem with these EV's are that In South Africa they are not really viable as there is not enough charging infrastructure. I miss the i3 REX with it's 650 cc motorcycle engine to charge while on the go. Hybrids is a total different story, like the BMW XM, but it is too expensive and it is not big sellers in ZA.

@@richardrobin395 I am not picking on South Africa I live in ZA, I have first hand knowledge. I would love an EV but there is no charging infrastructure where I live, you will find it only major cities and the highways linking them. And we have another problem, we have power outages up to ten hours a day. The problem is corruption on a grand scale. One of the largest fossil fueled power stations in the world is 20km from where I live, it should have been finished in 2014 yet up to now it is not finished.

This must be an older i4, they haven't been built with the "gear lever" for quite a while now. Also, 3.9s is the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time, not 0-60. Most actual cars get measured at around 3.7 for 0-100 km/h but some get as low as 3.6.
