For me, the problem with cars which come as an EV and petrol/diesel is that they need a huge bonnet to accomodate an ICE. I look forward to more pure EV's where the cars length is not increased by allowing for a conventional engine

It looks like most people who bother to comment dislike the design, but BWM are obviously happy with the world wide sales of the X2, X4 and X6 to design the new X2. So plenty of people like them, including me. A lot of people bag BMW design in general but in 2023 BMW sold approximately 2.5 million vehicles . More than Mercedes, more than Audi........... apparently. My current car, Nissan Murano, was disliked by most in the media as well. I liked it and still do. It's not a car you see on every street like a Toyota Corolla.

You need to check the focal length of the interior camera. Bryan’s head is in focus but the cockpit is blurred, which is a problem if you’re talking about the cockpit. I’ve noticed this in several videos now. Narrow the aperture to at least f8. You’re welcome.

Yeah, these prices are putting a serious damper on my EV dreams. Gonna wait for the Model 2 and the price wars. Though leasing an EV ( so I can play with a new toy ) is tempting.

There's the upcoming Renault 5 EV for £25k and probably more on the way. It takes time for new tech to democratise and get cheaper. My dad bought an LCD tv early on for £4k. Inflation adjusted that's a lot of money. They will get cheaper

It looks amazing. These older men have no taste. Its sporty, good boot space, gorgeous feel of cockpit, bery good seats and smooth cruising feel to the drive. In Norway we can get the car m sport mode, good specs for only 50 000 euro. When your options are i-pace, ix1 (frankly this look is for retired older people, looks way to similar to other boxy mini suvs and is very back heavy), polestar 2, teslas, kona, ioniq 5 --- bmw is the choice when it comes to class, quality and service.

@reefreturn I’ve got quite a nice spec on mine too. Went for Portimao Blue with the duotone light interior and Pan roof. Wanted Storm Bay but they didn’t have one with a light interior. Only had it a few days, so haven’t gone too far yet. Looking forward to a couple of big trips next month though.

Hi! I follow you and I don’t miss any of your videos! You have knowledge, attitude,humour, certainties, doubts… Don’t be afraid that the AI will do your job better!😊 Related to the coupe controversial design. I believe that the idea of coupe is to have round, curved shapes to improve aerodynamics, catching the eye, giving a “look at me, I’m sexy” message to the viewer! Another trend that seems to be exploited now is the “boxy” squared shapes that recall and enhance the masculine side of the design! The iX 2 seems to have the both design teams at the same table, still deliberating! But in the meanwhile, the car is in the showrooms!

Why do reviewers always overlook the fact, that,you give points a hatchback,and some of them will load it to the gunnels. Explains half the reason for stiffer suspension. Manufacturers have to take that into consideration when deciding on what suspension can cope with all eventualities. At this price level some of the options are just unacceptable. As for cheaper plastics?,that’s just not reasonable at this cost. If you want a good quality sports coupe, the Koreans do it better, or just buy a Skoda Enyaq coupe Laurent and Clement. iDrive and car settings are awful. Example: Set your BMW profile to your key (fine) and get in the car. Now use the wheel controls to set how you want the driver display to appear. Now set how you want the heads-up display to appear. Now hit the 'efficient driving mode.'. Now set off. Still fine. OK, now get out and turn the car off and then get back in...and you have to RESET ALL THAT STUFF AGAIN BECAUSE IT DOESN'T SAVE TO YOUR PROFILE AND THE CAR DOESN'T RETAIN IT. At this point, the 'convenient touchscreen' becomes a source of sheer enragement. Even the driving mode - there is no way to tell the car that you always want the car to start up in 'Efficient mode' - it will ALWAYS start up in the system default. There is a 'personal mode' you can configure that is the default - but no, you can't set 'efficient mode' there, all you can do is fiddle with interior lighting configurations. What the living hell. Source: I have a same-generation X1 with the same systems and iDrive version.

good evening. now the steering wheel this is the second time you have spoke about having a thinner steering wheel completely wrong the thicker the wheel the better all racing drivers will tell you this I told BMW 30 years ago about the rubbish they were bringing out supper thin steering wheel there rubbish in fact jacky Stewart told FORD make a thick wheel for the RS 2000 they did ford asked jacky a fellow Scot of mine WHY a thicker wheel he and my self sad your hands and fore arms get a better feel and you become part of the car. car set up Zero gravity = seat down rack all the way out and up racing driver set up for the track you also complain about the wheel getting in the way very strange never had that problem

I’m not keen on the looks of the new Mini Countryman BUT I would sooner have one of those over this iX2 that looks like a knock off design of a Chinese knock off design of a European design….…. The front end design would be vastly improved by leaving the “kidneys” black and making the lower copy of the Lexus cowcatcher body coloured.

Whilst I understand your viewpoint and indeed, many others have commented on the length of our videos, however there is a good reason for this. The automotive KZbin space is a very crowded one, so how does a small independent channel like us stand out against people like Carwow and the rest? By aiming our videos at car buyers who need to know lots of details before buying. We know that this will cost us views, but we feel it’s worth it to keep our target audience on side. This isn’t me criticising your comment and stance, and if this is too long for you, I do understand. We can’t be all things to all people. But I felt it’s only right that I explain why we do such long reviews.

There are a couple of others, but like I said, it’s what sets us apart. We go into detail which others don’t. And that suits some people, but not everyone. If I did a quick 15 minute review, why would you watch me over Carwow who are massive? I need to stand apart from them. And if you are in the market to actually buy a car, the majority of people will want a lot of detail before they go to the showroom. If you only want some, the video is split into chapters so you can easily find the bit you want. Like I said, it’s not for everyone, and if you aren’t one of the people who enjoy it, that’s your choice. I’m sorry you find it too long. But we do have a lot of people who enjoy the more in-depth review that we offer. Thank you for watching anyway.

Well I watched it all and didn't realise it went for 50 minutes! Probably because I've got and iX2 on order here in Australia and i like the way you present. iX2 xDrive 30 M Sport works out to £51,000 here with heated electric seats, heated steering wheel, sun roof, 10 speaker stereo etc etc. Most people who buy a German marque aren't buying for value for money, they buy or lease because they can afford it and they want one. You can leave to the kids or you can spend it. 😊
