BMW K100 - Fuel Pump Fiasco

This time around I try to fix an issue where my fuel pump has stopped working. While this initially looked like a very simple fix it turns out to be a touch more expensive than it first appeared.

My experience was the ground connection of the sender failed. This provides ground/negative to the fuel pump. Solution was cheap and reliable: I made a new ground connection attached to one of the plate four bolts to the main ground on chassis (very near). Add a faston male-female on the middle of the wire to easily detach the fuel tank from the bike.

I was really hoping it was jus the ground that failed. Unfortunately not the case for me.

I had the same issue, but i changed the fuel pump and it ran... I refitted the tank and rebuilt the bike fully ( I have the LT) and it wouldn't start with the same no fuel pump pumping.... After chasing my tail and scratching my head I found the pins in the 4 pin plug were corroded and not getting a good connection. Cleaned with contact cleaner and squashed the female pins abit, boom started first time😁 Just one to note incase someone else has the same issue!

I was really hoping it was going to be the connection that needed some love but alas not in my case.
