For those watching this, the M60 models do not have a 1200 fluid flush. Only actual M cars have that. Just a little fact correction.

that's correct... apologies for the mis speaking on the M60.

What about m340i or m440i?

great explanation!. I have 2000 miles on my 2024 X7 40i. I keep reading different opinions about oil change intervals and I’m so confused. I plan to keep this car for 5-6 years/100K-120K miles. I have the following questions: 1) Should I stick to the CBS recommendation for oil change intervals or is it better to change it every 5,000?. I live in South Florida (very hot, humid, etc.) 2) Even though it is not an M engine, is it good to do the first oil change around the mileage I have? (2,000). Thanks man!.

Hello sir. Thanks for the great video. I have a quick question that I had hard acceleration with my newly bought 2024 X5 50e in sport mode from 0 to about 70-80 km/h couple times (majorly during test driving and the car was around 5 km millage). Will this potentially damage the car in long run since I notice the rpm exceeded 4500 rpm (on user manual, it suggests do not exceed 4500 rpm and drive conservatively).

Long term damage no, one time accidentally going over RPM break in won’t cause issues… multiple times though will. So just try your best to keep it in the recommended RPM range for break in. :)

I floored my x6m 2024 competition in sport plus while it was cold only twice has only 70 miles on it. Is that bad? Will not be driving fast at all until break in service but just wondering if that caused damage or will cause damage later on with engine or diff or any noises? Please any help is appreciated!

So it won’t let you use all the power anyway so not recommended but it does safeguard against damage

Does m340i or m440i need 1200 fluid flush, oil change after break in?
@BMWofFW10 ай бұрын
No, just standard oil changes, no 1200 mile service.

How about the 310 mile engine break in? What happens for that one?

Nothing, it’s just a slow unlock for full rev range

Hello, i know my 330i is far from a real racing engine but i do wanna break it in properly. What should i do? I only found M engine break in information
@BMWofFW Жыл бұрын
Haha nothing wrong with that. Bottom line for most break ins is consistency in the inner cylinder sleeve and piston rings, you want everything to be smooth to have a proper seal. So gradual hearing and cooling cycles is key… when warming up don’t go full throttle yet, vary engine revvs and don’t hold engine speed, just like a kitchen pan this can create a hot spot making a single spot weak and vulnerable to cracking (crack means bad seal and oil intrusion into the cylinder computation chamber and fuel into oil, both bad). Do this for the first 500 miles and you should have a nice long lasting engine. Something else that’s work keeping in your notebook, the whole “drive it like you stole it” methods does have a kernel of truth to it as well. Over time carbon buildup in the engine can create restrictions of turbulent airflow, several tests from different sources (manufacturers, racing teams, KZbin personalities, my personal favorite is Engineering Explained’s channel on this) found that there’s a certain temperature that can remove the carbon from valves and inside the engine, and high engine RPMS will do that. So the Italian Tune-Up has some use once in a while. So after breakin, open up that throttle once in a while and enjoy that B48!

@@ahmedabdulwahed20 I would add even after breakin on colder days wait for your oil temp to climb half way at least before you go over 4K rpm. I own a 335 don’t slam it when your engine is cold. Have fun!
