I feel for the M6 owner. All the money in the world spent and stuff still keeps going wrong. My gearbox blew up on me again for the second time and it puts you down to the point you just want to give up. I was close to scrapping my car but close people talked me out of it. All the best to the M6 owner

Part of reason why BMW went with the Zf trans in their M cars after the F10 and the F80 F84 M cars. This here shows how even a Hybrid/Big single running the same power puts the DCTs to shame when paired with the right trans. ZF doing wonders with this Trans. Stupid high tolerance from the factory is nothing short of a miracle in engineering.

Just going to point out, one of the big factors was because the new m3/4’s etc are going to have xdrive, so they can’t use the dct it has to be the zf box.

Think it could be a fuelling issue. That looked like it ran lean and cylinder temp went sky high and melted the piston. That would happen even at stock power level.

I do find it strange that people decide to mess around with a cars engine to that kind of extent and inevitably blow it up but then ask for help to get it fixed 🧐 I mean what did you think would happen.
