I loved your video and how great you've rode this beautiful bike! Recently I am so much into roctane and this year planning to get one... But if you don't mind I would like to ask you one important question that can r18 roctane be a first bike to a beginner after using 140kg electric scooter since almost 3 years? What's your suggestion and thoughts? From the weight difference to engine and technical infrastructures of both bikes are incomparable I know but still I'm curious about your respond. I appreciate you.

Hi there, first of all I am happy to hear you enjoyed my video. I absolutely loved riding the R18 Roctane, my first motorbike is my current bike and is the 1250 GSA, for me the first time riding the Roctane was much easier than the first time riding the GSA you do not feel the weight and the weight is low to the ground so I personally would be able to do it 👍

Wonderful review! Looks like the bike is so well engineered and balanced that a new rider who is daring enough could ride one in the rain mode and grow into it.

Glad you enjoyed it and it was an absolute joy to ride this beast, if I had parking for it then for sure would it be on the list to get 👍

@@archjapanmotovlogs Fortunately, in the rental building I live in has a gated covered parking garage. But management charges $75 a month for every extra parking space. Hopefully I will be able to put a hefty down payment on the bike so the total monthly payments including insurance won't be too much. I am also anxiously waiting for the R12 to come out so I can test ride the R12 and R18 back to back and see which bike I like more.

I know the pain Erol, I live in a big city no parking in my building and forced to pay $110 per month for secure motorbike parking that is 15 minutes away, better than nothing though 🙏

Good review. Total dream machine. I with BMW did the Roctane either with the black/white pinstriping of the R18, or some actual colors. I'm not sure why they only did the most drab three colors for a hardcore roadster.

A very good review Arch, you were clearly enjoying yourself! As well as riding BMWs, I’ve been a Harley rider for 30 or so years. I love the heel/toe gear changes and floorboards and those big, heavy cruisers carry their weight so low that combined with the low seat height they are a cinch to manoeuvre (easier than my trusty GSA). Should I ever get another cruiser, my last was an Ultra Classic Electraglide, I would seriously look at the BMW too. I wouldn’t fancy taking either into the desert though! 😂Thanks for sharing 😊

Did you say the Roctane is the only R18 with twin discs up front?
@archjapanmotovlogs20 күн бұрын
No I said comaired to other models (they had at the dealer) did this version have dual disc brakes up front.

BMW say for riding in the countryside. Definitely not an every day bike then.

Actually, I was not expecting that BMW would make an American cruiser typed bike like this but now I have come to think that the boxer engine is just fit for it. This may be an inevitable and to-be-welcomed evolution.

I actually think that BMW are nodding to their own heritage - not HD. Look at the original R series bikes from the ‘20s - they’re low and long.
